    possible returning customer

I have all of that. Years ago, when we lost my local Fox channel and I complained about the loss of the NFL, Dish came out and installed an antenna for me. I still have it. Still works. I just don't see the option on DISH's sign up page to elect out of locals, so I was wondering if this...

    possible returning customer

It was, but changes to RSNs now make that kind of irrelevant. The RSNs no longer fully exist. Most have gone out of business. Yep, Comcast will raise the price of my broadband...but can go w/phone guys, or TMobile now has this mobile internet Looks like I still can opt out of locals on...

    possible returning customer

It has been about 6 years since I left DISH. Local channel cost is out of control in my cable bill. Does DISH still have the options to do its packages without locals? I rooted around the DISH site and all they offer now, it seems, is packages with locals. Did this change?

Cox Media Group Removes Local Channels From DISH

Comcaast just pays whatever the offered rate is. The problem there is that since Comcast owns NBC, it naturally doesn;t want to see NBC pulled. And then when the other networks come with their offers similar to the NBC stations, Comcast pretty much has to cave there as well.

    PAC-12 Network Suing Dish

I finally left DISH for Comcast once all the RSNs disappeared. It was unfortunate, and I get DISH's position here, but I had to pull the plug.

    PAC-12 Network Suing Dish

Customers already paid the price. This is past stuff DISH is trying to weasal out of.

TWO YEAR CONTRACT OVER THIS MONTH

Run like hell. There are better deals out there....unless you are rural without options

    PAC-12 Network Suing Dish

If there is a signed contract might be better to just sue and get paid. DISH will lose this one.

Yep, and the OP is free to take his business elsewhere just the same.

I tried calling Tegna today to complain but they no longer give an option to talk to an operator.

Who said I was yelling at the clouds? The guy posted and I told him here's an option. Get over yourself.

I tried calling Tegna today to complain but they no longer give an option to talk to an operator.

You can do what you want to do. Others can do what they want to do. The guy that posted said the channels are not even answering now. if he wants to get through, here is a way to harass them back. I've head your point. You like to sit back and take it and say nothing. That's your...

I tried calling Tegna today to complain but they no longer give an option to talk to an operator.

How does it help? It's news that the viewers are dissatisfied and maybe the news should go do an honest analysis of the situation. Or not. You can call DISH if you want, and people do. If DISH did something to screw its customers I'd call. I have, And I quit DISH because of it. DISH...

I tried calling Tegna today to complain but they no longer give an option to talk to an operator.

It will waste the news crew's time. Maybe this is the intent, like Tegna wasting viewers time. World does better when people do the right thing the first time. When they don't chaos ensues.

I tried calling Tegna today to complain but they no longer give an option to talk to an operator.

Call the newsroom of one of their channel's TV news operation. You'll get through. Give them the tip that a certain TV channel group is screwing its viewership

    Price increase coming for locals?

For those of you who can use an antenna for locals you really need to look at that option.

RSN's Continue to Fall - Dish drops AT&T Sportsnets

You all just need to accept that regional sports are not in DISH's business model at the costs the channels want to charge.

Sinclair warns of 112 channels being dropped by DISH next Monday (8/16)

I think you all are splitting hairs on this. Bottom line is IF DISH has no restransmission agreement in effect, DISH has to not carry the channel or it will owe damages. It is my understanding DISH has offered to continue at the current rates and a small inflationary increase. Sinclair wants...

Sinclair warns of 112 channels being dropped by DISH next Monday (8/16)

Reports say there is a temporary agreement, but no details on what temporary means. This means they will probably push it to the verge of NFL and college football season and hold people hostage for the opening weeks, LOL. We've seen this show before. Best deal Sinclair can hope for is a...

Sinclair warns of 112 channels being dropped by DISH next Monday (8/16)

In urban areas this is absolutely a must - heck I'd pay extra for it today. DISH, though, has a huge chunk of customers in the more rural areas, so this could impact some of this. But yeah, by default they just need to do it.

Agreed - each channel should stand on it's own.

In time Congress will step in, but not now, and consumers should use every advantage they have

Sinclair warns of 112 channels being dropped by DISH next Monday (8/16)

Maybe so - time will tell - but until it is consumers need to do what works best for them. If Locast was really operating blatantly afoul of the law the broadcasters would have a restraining order in place. They don't. That alone means its not so concrete on the legal arguments they advance.

Sinclair warns of 112 channels being dropped by DISH next Monday (8/16)

Several years ago when my Fox station was pulled because of a dispute - and during football season - DISH agreed to install an antenna at DISH's expense. Works beautifully and integrates wonderfully with the Hopper. You lose PTAT it only allowed for two stations, but it works. Plus HULU had...

Considering the Move to Dish Network

Absolutely. If you have Comcast internet and you bundle you will easily save $40 a month OR more plus have your sports channels that DISH has pulled off. Comcast has jacked up the price of their stand alone internet so badly.
