    Lnb problem

My lnb will move my motor, but I can't get any signal all of a sudden. Can a lnb be bad, but still move a motor, or do I have an alignment problem or something? I just figured I'd ask before I make the journey to the roof. I do have a spare lnb to test with thankfully. Thanks.

Nice BUD for someone in western New York

I was going to pick up this dish, but found another one that was closer to me. The dish is free and the guy who owns it is very friendly. You just need to take it down and it's yours.rochester.craigslist.org/zip/172019448.html

    Stradis 290 pci card

Anyone interested in this card? It decodes 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 SD without slowing down your computer. I routinely watch feeds with it and surf the web at the same time with minimal cpu usage. TSReader software has built-in support for this card and it works flawlessly. More info on the card can be...

    Downgrading my dish size

The weight and high winds finally killed my sg2100 motor that's attached to my 1m Winegard. It lasted over a year and I am constantly motoring, so I can't complain. I'm thinking of replacing the 1m with the 76cm Winegard to lessen the stress on my new motor. How much of a signal loss should I...

Does anybody ever ask what your dish(s) are for?

My neighbors across the street asked if my 2 1m dishes were used for surveillance or spying. I just laughed and told them it was just for t.v. Soon after they were arrested for selling drugs out of their house. Now I know why they were so paranoid! They probably think I had something to do with...

    Strong channels on G10R

Remember to skew your lnb once you get your dish pointed at G10R. I'm not sure if its clockwise or counterclockwise or the amount of degrees, but you'll definitely have to skew it since G10R is not your true south satellite. Some of the experts here can surely help more than me. Good Luck!

    Standalone Mpeg-2 hardware decoder?

A company called Sigma Designs makes cards to do this. Three different models to choose from. Hollywood Plus, Netstream 2000, and X-Card. I recently bought the Hollywood Plus on ebay for $8.

If your initial setup is slightly flawed, will that mess up USALS?

My three installs were always off by a few degrees. I could have readjusted the dish, but found it easier to just adjust the longitude setting for usals by a few degrees in the receiver set-up to compensate for any difference. My true south is 79, but my receiver's longitude is set at 82...

World's first single-chip tuner for FTA satellite DTV receivers

If this means faster blind scanning and less heat generation; then I want it in pci cards immediately! Only a matter of time before this market really takes off(dishnetwork pirates will soon be fta converts) and the receivers become more robust. The demand is there. Nice find by the way!

    G10 signal for "The Tube" transponder (11720 V 27692)

38% rock steady with my satwork 3688, channel master 100cm, and invacom .3 flange connected to channel master feedhorn. The satwork 3688 is very stingy with quality readings. I experience no breakups at all with this reading.
