    Finally ordered some goodies

Fixed and readjusted my 36" KU, and set up the 6' BUD again. Aimed the 6 footer at 99w, getting a lot of stuff, but ABC at 4120 isn't one of them, quality flickers around 10% on 4120. I ran out of daylight, I might be able to improve that by tweaking the adjustments on the 6 footer some more...

Spring Break GIVEAWAY: AMIKO MINI HD RE

I Want to Win. Sorry, no interesting spring break stories here. Unless you count the night some of my friends got together for a bon fire. I grabbed a beer, opened it and on my way back to the group I tripped on a rock.... Naturally I held my beer up so I wouldn't spill it, and immediately...

    Finally ordered some goodies

I'll try that with the 6 footer, it is a Prime Focus with an C Band LNBF (Dual output for 2 receivers), not sure what brand it is, it's kinda bleached from being exposed to the sun, but I could make out the C Band bit and a small portion of the frequency range on the tag. I'm gonna have to put...

    Finally ordered some goodies

Did a little adjusting to the 36" KU, got an even better signal. Is it normal to pick up 103W and 105W when you're aimed at 103? Because I'm getting channels from 105W too, even though I adjusted for the best possible signal I could get on 103. Assembled the 6' BUD (currently a Stationary BUD)...

    MOSFET'S CORNER*

Looks like you're in the same boat as me, Mosfet. I'm out in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by trees and mountains. Best of luck aiming for those birds you want.

    Finally ordered some goodies

Blindspot is an NBC primetime program. It'd be great if I could catch it the night it airs, when I get off work, instead of waiting a day or two for it to pop up on Hulu. Agents of Shield is an ABC primetime program, so if I can get an ABC feed on another dish, I'd be set. Anything beyond that...

    Finally ordered some goodies

Good to know. After you mentioned it, I goofed around with the remote and found the audio option to pick languages. At the moment, I'm getting some 70's British Spy TV Show on Cozi and some kind of Soap Opera on NBC. Couldn't stand the soaps, so I watched a couple episodes of that british spy...

    Finally ordered some goodies

I got it set up, kinda... I've got the 36" locked on to KU 103W, great signal, great quality... It only took me a couple hours and a 6-pack (on the roof...in the words of Austin Powers, I too like to live dangerously) before I finally realized I wasn't even aimed at the correct bird. I kept...

    Finally ordered some goodies

Nice. The name stood out to me, I've been building a fretless headstockless 7 string electric neck-thru body guitar that is styled a little after an SG and a Strat, with a longer fretscale. If the old analog receiver does have a module in it, I'll be sure to remove it. Edit : I was also...

    Finally ordered some goodies

Good to know. I'll have to power up my analog receiver to see if the thing still works, I have no idea, I was a little kid the last time I seen that thing in use (it sat beside the Laserdisc and Videodisc players... on my dad's floor model console tv) On another random note, your name...

    Finally ordered some goodies

I'll check those out as soon as that delivery truck pulls down the driveway. With any luck I'll also have at least 1 BUD to work with, in the next week or so. Motorized, but it'll probably be stationary until I can figure out where to get an affordable/entry level positioner box. Edit ...

    Finally ordered some goodies

Just wondering, what 2 satellites (KU) would you guys recommend aiming at, until I add a motorized KU and the BUDs? On another note, I mentioned to a coworker that I was looking for BUDs and he says "Those monster dishes from when we were little kids? My aunt has one in her yard, she was...

    Finally ordered some goodies

I've been wanting to set up my BUD for several years now, but still haven't got around to that. The BUD that was hiding in storage was missing parts, an 8' Unimesh. I found most of the framework, the mount, actuator, buttonhook & LNB, etc basically everything except the mesh panels. My...

New to C Band, planning a mini "farm"

Sorry I haven't stopped in guys. Nothing new to post. I got called in to cover shifts and there's some vacations going on that I'll be covering shifts for, so I'm gonna be up to my eyes in work until at least the end of next week. The day that I had off and was gonna dismantle the 12 Footer, it...

New to C Band, planning a mini "farm"

There's more than 1 hiding up there, it's like playing a game of Jenga getting stuff out of the crawl space, there's tv stuff, audio stuff, lawn tools, etc up there. I grabbed the smallest of the OTA Antennas, because it was all the way at the front. Holy dust and cobwebs batman!

New to C Band, planning a mini "farm"

Not really. It's metal (aluminum, I think. Didn't check though), must be at least 15' tall and has arms that are probably 5' long. Pretty sure at least some of the arms were L shaped too

New to C Band, planning a mini "farm"

Going to yank the 12 footer off my grandfather's roof tomorrow morning, she'll serve as my primary eye on the sky. When I find the rest of the 10 footer I'll set her up to get what I can't on the 12. I think I might have found another Gem while searching for the rest of the 10 footer. My dad...

New to C Band, planning a mini "farm"

Small possibility on that, Ke4est. Knowing my dad, though, it's most likely still here somewhere. He hates throwing anything away. The first family computer is still in the attic... Glorious IBM 386 with DOS and Windows 3.1... If that doesn't show that he hangs on to stuff, this might. I was...

New to C Band, planning a mini "farm"

Well, I might not get much done today, working tonight, 2nd job. Off the rest of the week on the 2nd job though, so that frees up some quality "tv prep" time. Still gonna try to get the 10 footer outside... Fun... She's under the front porch, which was closed in and built into an entry way...

New to C Band, planning a mini "farm"

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys. At the moment there's nothing really picture worthy, just a chainsaw, a skid loader, and more trees that have gotta go. But as soon as I get the 10 Footer out of storage expect pictures, and questions. I was looking at the Manhattan 1997 receiver, it seems...

New to C Band, planning a mini "farm"

let's start it off. I'm Chris and I'm in Central PA and Amc 6 is almost perfectly inline with true south from my backyard. I can catch everything as far as G13/Horizons 1 to the west and if I put my BUD up on a tall post (get her up off the ground a few feet), I can go as far east as Eutelsat...
