Yes, but in order to watch it, you'll have to enter your override password. Works great if you want to record something on a TV the kids use, but you don't want them to watch it.

I would just sign up for D* with an SD Tivo, and when you have an HD television, THEN get the HD DVR - either Tivo, or whatever D* is offereing then.

Home Depot sells a "combo" cable that contains 2 RG6, 2 Cat 5 and 1 fiber line in one bundle, so you only have to pull one cable everywhere.
