    What kind of Video in does the DVDR have? If you have S-Video in, you could still do it by running s-video out from the DVR to the DVDR.

    I already had two HD DVR's and replaced our last SD DVR a week or so ago. They shipped it to us, so they do ship them. But, Jason is right -- you'll need a new dish for the new HD DVR. I'd just be patient and let them come do their job :)

    Our luck with D* installs has ALWAYS been good. They show up when promised and complete the work quickly. Sometimes the dates are 1 week to 10 days off, but they've shown when promised.

    You can defintely do that no issue. What you can't do well is have a LIVE show on two active tuners and pause one and go watch the other until a commercial break and then switch back. That is what I miss the most :( There is a workaround, but it doesnt quiet work the same way.

    My screen doesn't show it either, but I had just called last saturday because we have an older HD only box that needed to be replaced. I got an HD DVR for $99 and one for free to replace our old one. So, now all three of our TVs will have HD DVRs :) Not a bad deal at all.
