Hello everyone, The sound died on my DSR505. I've double-checked the connections, settings on both my TV and STB. Reset a half dozen times, to no avail. Great video, though. Any suggestions? I'm afraid I may have to replace it. Thanks!

Frenchophile pretty much sums it up. Occasionally, such as July 14 and Festival de la Musique (June), RFO will show live feeds. The news is time-delayed to coincide with SPM's time zone. As for the other French Canadian stations, I've only seen Canal Evasion show live Tour de France.

I'm in Whitmore Lk/Pinckney area and a tech told me that in my area they filter the HD but in other areas, it's free. However, a subsequent channel scan detected them all and I have the HD locals, plus 5 or so PBS stations in HD. Go figure.

And I thought the striping issue was because my cables may have loosened.

FWIW, I have a Sony remote (RM-YD003) that I've used on maybe 5 occasions. I gave up a long time ago trying to get it to work with my DSR505. My SC remote is a URC-547. It does everything I need it to do with my TV & VCR, too.

I have Starchoice (Canadian Sat) with different equipment and experienced the same problem. However, when I reentered the channel, the picture returned to normal. I thought it was my receiver.

I, too am from the Detroit area. I looked at my former Bev skew setting on my Dish500 and the red line is just a tad below 94, which is about 93.5-ish.
