Dish tells me it's $200 plus $15 to upgrade to HD. Is this good?

The additional fees for HD in the past have kept us from upgrading to HD, but the new HD for life deal sounds good. We currently have an SD DVR, (a 625, maybe?), so obviously we'd need an equipment upgrade to go HD. I did an online chat with Dish this evening, and they said they could give me...

Think about going HD....does this pricing I got quoted sound right?

Thanks for the info, I'll try another online chat and see what happens. No matter what, I'll have to do something since my current DVR is having problems (the video occasionally goes flickers and goes blank, but a tap to the unit brings the picture back).

Think about going HD....does this pricing I got quoted sound right?

Okay, so right now there's really no way to get HD without my monthly charge increasing by $10....that's a bummer. Hmmmm.....I don't suppose Dish has any plans to create another all-HD package similar to Absolute or Tubo, LOL. If I do it, I'll make sure to not pay $150 for the DVR! :)

Think about going HD....does this pricing I got quoted sound right?

Been a customer since March of 2007, and I'm not under contract. Haven't done a thing with it since I originally signed up, no upgrades or anything. I guess it was the TurboHD packages I was thinking of....but it would seem those are discontinued?

Think about going HD....does this pricing I got quoted sound right?

My 625 DVR is going a little crazy, so I'm thinking about upgrading to HD programming which would get me a different DVR. I just got finished talking to a DISH agent on live chat, and they said it would be $150 for an HD DVR Duo. I'm thinking this seems a bit steep? My current bill is $52.51...

List of HD Local Markets NOT Available on Dish Network

So I guess I probably shouldn't hold my breath for "Cheyenne, WY / Scottsbluff, NE" HD locals, right? Since it's #198 on the list.... :( Is there any hope, or probably not?

Thinking of going to Turbo HD Bronze, I have some questions...

Oohhhh, now this makes things interesting. I thought the price would be going up for everyone in February. But, if I'm understanding correctly, people who get in at the current price won't get a price increase in Feb? Is that correct?

Thinking of going to Turbo HD Bronze, I have some questions...

Awww, thats a bummer! I logged into my dish account online, and under the "Offers" section, it has this Dish 'n It Up area, and it has the TurboHD logo, and talks about the channels and programming packages. I had heard about the 'new customers only' thing, but I figured that I was somehow...

Thinking of going to Turbo HD Bronze, I have some questions...

I currently have AT100, which is costing $50 a month, and I'm thinking of using "Dish N it Up" to go to Turbo HD Bronze, which (I think) would be $37 a month with locals and dvr. (that's right, isn't it?) I have a few questions... 1. I've read about 4:3 stuff and 'stretch-o-vision' being on...

Thinking of upgrading to Dish HD, have a couple questions...

My 18-month Dish contract expired last month, and I've been thinking of moving up to HD, since I already have an HDTV. I was thinking of getting the HD Absolute plan, but now with all the confusion about the new "Turbo" plans being introduced, I'm not sure if I should wait a while or jump...

    Can I use a 5.0 and a 6.0 to control TV1 on a 625?

I have a 625 receiver, and the remote that came with the receiver for TV1 is a 5.0 IR. I bought a 6.0 IR/UHF Pro remote on ebay, and I want to use it for an additional TV1 remote. Is this possible? I was able to get the 6.0 IR/UHF remote to work for TV2, but I can't seem to get it to work for...
