    Satellite on Electric Utility Pole

Oh yea. in this case the pole was 130 feet from the house hidden behind trees. Luckily they had a conduit for cable and telephone wire running to the pole.

    Satellite on Electric Utility Pole

It depends on what is on the pole. If it is a pole with only your meter and circuit breaker box on it, then the pole is yours. You paid for it for service to your house and as long as there is not any high voltage lines and transformers on it, it's yours. I have gotten in this argument before...

What do I need for the dish network in Mexico City?

You would probably need dishes that are this big- http://www.nrao.edu/imagegallery/images/VLA729_med.jpg :D

    Can I use a T90 (Wave Frontier) with DPP44

No. The T90 requires reverse polarized LNBs. No one offers a stacked reverse polarized LNB. You can only use stacked (dish pro) LNBs with a DPP44 switch.

Why not show the channel you were at on dish home?

Dish home is on TP 29 on the 110 bird, so thats probably how they provide it. It would not take very much bandwidth for 6 very small windows of those channels.

Lifetime Gets Backup in EchoStar Spat

Come on guys. You should be more sensitive. What would these women do if they couldn't watch their "Victim TV" channel. ;)

Interesting conversation w/CSR on customer retention....

The $250 lease upgrade is very reasonable. Dish just needs to to offer to long time customers, rather than making them buy it for $500 or whatever it is. When you do the math the $250 is cheaper. Cable wants $20 bucks a month for a HD DVR, but dish only wants $5 a month (once you get past the...

    Will lifetime be back?

Dish did have to pull the channel. If you do not have a contract (because it expired), then you can not legally broadcast the channel. I still think this stuff is dumb. In 7 months they could not come up with a solution. I'm just lucky that the women I have sold dish to haven't noticed it yet.

Interesting conversation w/CSR on customer retention....

My point is not against the customer, it is against dish network. I would expect the customer to do what they have to to get a good deal. My point is that dish network should not be doing this to their long time customers. The customer should not have email CEO or whatever to get the lease...

Interesting conversation w/CSR on customer retention....

It's pretty sad that long time loyal customers have to do that kind of stuff just to get upgraded.

    Dish network, Dish network.

Regardless of whose fault it is, they should send the guy another remote. He didn't lose, break, steal or keep it. It's funny to hear all these nickel and dime people stick up for dish over a remote that the guy SENT BACK TO DISH. Do you really think it cost dish $32 for a remote. I would...

Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network off Dish due to contract dispute

While I can see Charlie's pint of view, I think that this is satellite suicide to pull this channel. I imagine that i will be getting calls from some people i have sold dish to about this. Some were women and some were men in house holds were their wife's wear the pants. I agree with the...

    Considering switching to DirecTV

You could have canceled your old dish account, then have your wife setup a new account by adding "apt B" to your address. That way you could have gotten all new equipment which include a DVR box for 2 tv's (625) and a regular box for the other 2 tv's (322). That why you would pay for only 2...

cheapest way to upgrade to dish 1000

That sounds like a very good deal for a dish 1000 since the 2 LNB's alone cost about $60.

Whats the point of 3Ghz groundblocks/ wall plates if not using 3 gig coax?

How can you stand to use perfect 10 ground blocks. They are such crap. They have pretty good barrels though. I preffer steren ground blocks with machined threads. The plating doesnt peel off like the perfect 10 stuff.

    Where did MSNBC go?

Maybe because people actually watch fox news :p It was quite funny when the local clear channel radio station reported that they have more listeners in one town than MSNBC has viewers in the whole country. :haha

Dish speaks with forked tongue, Retailers Beware

Dish has enjoyed allot of success because of their retailers. Now they want to screw the people who got them there. Doesn't sound like a recipe for success, only disaster.

Dish speaks with forked tongue, Retailers Beware

And how about those charge backs. If a customer buys out of their contract, dish collects $240 from the customer, charges back the retailer and make the retailer go and pick up the equipment themselves.

Dish speaks with forked tongue, Retailers Beware

How about those club dish cards  You do all the work to sell to the customer and hope that you get a referral from that customer. Then a month after you hook them up, dish sends them bulb dish cards. They offer the customer $5 a month credit and waive the activation fee for the person...
