    622 OTA Guide Listings?

Dish Doesn't Want You Viewing PBS-HD IRRELEVANT. A 'nationwide solution' is not needed for PBS-HD; Dish just needs to pass thru/stop blocking the program data which PBS local affiliates broadcast. PBS-HD OTA EPG is functional on all Direct HR PVRs (even tho Direct doesn't sat. broadcast...

    OTA HD subchannel listings

It's why we're dumping Dish Local sub channel data blocked in Minneapolis/ St. Paul also. Direct TV's HR PVR provides guide for these stations. Dish has blocked them post 921. I'm convinced Dish considers the stations - especially PBS-HD - to be threats; Pure HD, Alot of HD original...

HD OTA vs. DISH HD Locals

The Best Thing(s) in Life (True HD/OTA) is Free We're turning saddness to joy when we soon will stop paying dish thousands of dollars annually for fuzz. Pure HD via OTA is and will remain $0. Our only requirement is a 250+GB DVR which is coming soon.

Drop AT/SD, keep only old HD, Locals?

Have two 942s (1 leased, 1 owned) w/ AT60, old HD, Voom & Locals. If I replace the leased unit with a purchased one, can I drop AT60 and subscribe to only old Hd Pak ($15), Voom ($5) and Locals ($6) = $21?

What about PBSHD in Kansas City?

NO PBS-HD from Dish Correct. Also, you will not get any program information for PBS-HD - and thus, not be able to record any program on the station from the Guide even though you will be paying a monthly fee for 'locals' and an additional monthly (PVR) fee for guide/recording service.

    Locals only on 622?

BFG's right; Sony DHG-HDD250/500 HD DVR- a pretty well rated single tuner unit (discontinued 4 months ago). Considered it until I learned the next gens with dual tuners are coming in a few months.

    Locals only on 622?

Currently have 942 lease w/ 60, HD Pak + Voom + fees = $65 monthly. After years of DBS, we've determined that we now watch 95% pure HD OTA (we get 7 Minneapolis, 3 Rochester and 2 Eau Claire HD channels). All we want is stand-alone 250+gb hdd HD PVR (with guide) for OTA. $625. for 622 w/...

No PBS HD = No Dish for Me

This thread addresses PBS-HD; E* failure to carry the channel, and more importantly, E* blocking of OTA guide data for the channel. No one claimed they can't view the channel OTA.

I should have clarified that I live 65 miles from Minneapolis towers and get beautiful, uncompressed HD on PBS-HD and 6 other network HD channels with a $70 antenna in the attic. http://www.monstronix.com/product_info.php?products_id=65385...

Last Ditch Effort, Letter to ceo@dishnetwork.com

Get your own ant. You may want it longer than Dish Forget Charlie. I live 60 miles from towers and pull in 8 network HD channels with an $80 attic antenna. Well worth the investment since OTA is the only source of direct transmitted, pure HD - and it's free. You may end up loving it as...

622 With No Upgrade or 18 mo. commitment

Have leased 942 and 625 on 'old' HD Pak & Voom (and Top 60). If I BUY 622 and a 510, Can I return 942 and 625 and drop to only HD Pak, cut 1 DVR fee and have no 18 mo. commitment? We get 8 OTA HD channels and never watch SD fuzz anymore and would save $30 monthly. Obviously, buying a...

    Whats better FTA OR DISHNETWORK?

As long as you don't want OTA-HD, your're ok. If you do, you will not get guide data for PBS-HD or many sub-channels - even though you'll have to pay for the local channels to get what limited guide data they provide. All Direct TV receivers do provide guide data for essentially all the...

Will 622 have better OTA Program Guide?

    1. All Direct TV receivers receive EPG for PBS-HD and other sub-channels. D* HD PVR also permits recording 2 OTA (or watching one while recording another). Also, Dish 942 and 622 only allow one OTA viewing OR recording at a time. 2. My lowly Humax (FHA100) provides 4 days of guide data for...

PBS-HD OTA Guide on Tivo in all Direct TV markets? That's very good news. I'd like to know if other markets have PBS-HD guide on Direct Tivo or there's something unique about Phoenix. I'll check DTV forum. Thank you, Mike.
