HR24-100. When playing back a recorded program from the DVR, progress bar does not disappear on it's own after using 30 second skip. Only hitting "exit" clears it.

The options show up as I type. I don't hit the red button. Prior to my above post, I typed the word "tiger" and those were the options that I got. I'll see if I can post a picture tomorrow if that would help.

When I do a search with 0453, I get the following options on the word that I typed in: -Show -Person (which I've never seen before) -Keyword -Youtube I'm not sure how the trailers thing works or how to turn it on. I've never seen the option anywhere, including the Directv Cinema section.

I think people still get confused regarding the youtube integration. For those new to this, there isn't a youtube section or button anywhere. You need to use the search function on your DVR and options from both Directv and youtube will appear in the results. It's a great feature!

I did the apt thing and had a concern about holes as well. The thin RG6 jumps a couple of the guys mention above was the way to go for me. They work well through windows or sliding glass doors without losing heat/AC. Radio shack sells them pretty cheap.

So is there any coaxial output at all working on this box? If so, would it be live at the same time as using HDMI? I need this to run 2 tv's but I don't need to watch 2 different programs. Guess I could buy a converter if I have to, right?

Sounds like a lot of hassle. I'd look at going VSAT in Asia. Should be enough bandwidth for Slingbox. Cost ya about $150- per month. Otherwise depending on where in Asia, you could make friends with a US serviceman and get the military sat hookup. ;-)

Cheaper short-term maybe but you have the added receiver cost per month, plus the BS factor of moving files, plus the external HD fee. With this you could also add an IR repeater and a switch so you can use the same line for your BluRay player/HTPC as well. :o

Have you checked into wireless HDMI? They also make HDMI to CAT5 converters that are good for 300 ft at 1080P. There's a few options on Google.

I would have agreed with you until I watched South Park in HD. Believe it or not, there is a nice difference. Those of you with an Xbox 360 know what I'm talking about.

No worries. I would consider it if I thought it would be the last switch and I liked Direct's equipment. It would be great if they both opened up to outsourcing/third-parties and someone made a universal box.:D Maybe someday... Until then, I have something to complain about. ;)

I would agree with you if I didn't have a significant investment in equipment. I can't just switch providers everytime the wind blows a different direction. I don't have $500 - $1000 to blow everytime one of these companies starts to slack in value. However, if the wind continues to blow this...

Been waiting for this for a while now. One less box under my tv would be great. I'd doubt Charlie would let it happen though for fear of not being able to lock down everything on it. Too progressive for Dish Network, I'm afraid.
