    The Weirdest Thing is happening

So are you saying that if someone has Dish Network and also an OTA antenna it rebroadcasts some type of signal?

    The Weirdest Thing is happening

When I turn any television in my house to channel 19, I get the Dish Network symbol floating around with the "press select" underneath it. I don't even Dish Network at my house!! Can someone please explain this to me? I don't even know of anyone around me that has Dish Network either.

TV2 Antenna used in OTA HD port

I don't know if anyone has already talked about this or not, but I scanned my HD locals with the TV2 Antenna in the OTA HD port and I got HD locals with a strength of about 65-70. Would a cable TV amplifier boost this signal?

    Dish Installer pay?

Dish Network internal techs in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia start at $11.00 hr. and work 4 days a week. Everything is paid for except work boots. All the tools and supplies are given to them along with the use of a work van with a company gas card. I know for a fact, the techs here are...

    Dish 1000 coax run question

Before the separator, you should always have the ouputs from the separator going directly in the receiver.

    Dish 1000 coax run question

    Yep, I have a Dish 1000 with a DP Quad and a 44 switch because I have a 211, 625, and a 311 receiver.

    Dish 1000 coax run question

The DP Dual looks at the 129 satellite and the DPP Twin looks at the 119 & 110 satellite. A little jumper line needs to run from the DP Dual to the additional port on the DPP Twin. That way all 3 sat locations will be running through the switch that is already in the DPP Twin. Then you can run 1...

    Problem with dvr 625

Have you tried unplugging each receiver for about 15 seconds and then plugging them back in?

    Dish 1000 coax run question

You need two lines run to the 622 unless you are using a 44 switch or the LNB is a DPP Twin. Then you would only need 1 line because you could separate.

Setting up to Display in HD???

61.5 should easily be past at least 80. 110 and 119 are not bad, could be a little higher. I have a 211 with a Sony and my setting is 1080 I, but some TV's it is 720.

New Sat guy in need of setup help!

You don't need diplexers, just a 3 way splitter. Take the TV out line from the receiver and put it in the 3 way splitter. Then the 3 lines coming off the splitter will go to your 3 TV's including the one that has the receiver. Easy as 1.2.3.

If Dish was smart they would just buy TiVo!

Check Switch Error - No Signal from 61.5

How is the line of sight for the 61.5? Are there any tree branches/leaves in the way? The only thing I could think of would be a bad port on the 44 switch, the LNB on the 61.5 could be bad. I would start out by switching ports on the inputs for the 44 switch, switch port 4 with port 3 and do a...

Check Switch Error - No Signal from 61.5

What is the signal strength of the 61.5? Do you have the power inserter of the 44 switch plugged in? You say a DPPlus "splitter", do you mean a separator?

    Using splitters with Dish

Since you can't split a signal from a switch, you can split a signal from a dual lnb correct?

    Using splitters with Dish

Recently I decided to experiment with the DPP Twin, DP Twin, and the DPP 44 switch. I peaked in a Dish 500 with a DPP Twin and ran 1 line directly to a 510 receiver and just before the Satellite in port, I put a two way ATRAS splitter. Out of the ATRAS splitter, I ran a line to the Satellite in...

    510 future........................?

Basically, the 510 receiver is being replaced right now with the 625 receiver. Even if a customer wants a single tuner DVR receiver, they are getting the 625 receiver (a dual tuner DVR) and hooking it up to just one TV. I don't know what the plans are in the future for a single tuner DVR receiver.

    Installers opinion?

I will be honest with you, some of my techs only carry what is on the work order. My experienced techs will bring extra dishes, lnbs, and switches just in case.

Dish 1000 signal loss on 129

Is the line of sight for the 129 satellite clear or could something like a tree branch be in the way when the wind blows?
  23. D

Is this likely a problem with switch or receiver?

Easy way to tell if it is the receiver, swap the receivers out. If the 942 works with the 508's line then you know the 508 is bad.

    When you don't have a DPP44 switch

Cool. We have alot of jobs starting next week that call for a DPP44 switch and the new 622 receiver.

    When you don't have a DPP44 switch

I went to a trouble call the other day and found out the customer was picking up 4 satellites 119,110,105, and 61.5 without a DPP44 switch! The configuration was quite simple, but I never knew it could work. He had a 34 switch with a SD105, then his receiver line was running out of the 34 switch...
