Is this likely a problem with switch or receiver?

Have 942 one room, 508 in other.

Dish 500 with 2 DP LNBs for 110&119 and another small dish for 61.5.

The 3 sat lines run into a DP-34 which outputs 2 lines tp 942 and 3rd line to the 508.

942 sees all 3 sats fine.

Recently 508 started loosing signals and / or giving switch error messges. Usually a switch-check and / or reboot fixed it.

Now the 508 will only see the 119 sat. Neither switch checks nor hard & soft reboots will help. The 942 is still working fine.

Before I try climbing a snowy roof to check switch I just wanted to know if this is more likely the 508 going bad or a problem with the DP-34?

Side question: If the 508 is bad and I replace it with the 942 and then get a 622, can I just get away with running the 4th line out of the DP34 to the 942?

Thanks

You also might want to check any crimped connections. I was having the same problem on one of my 301's. I would start getting the aquiring sat signal error message and then later I would get the switch error message. It turned out to be a bad connector at the grounding block.
