Are you sure about that? I don't think I have seen an NFL ST free weekend since I've had Directv. I know they usually do a Superfan free preview in week 1 but you had to sub to NFL Sunday Ticket obviously in order to see it.

I dont know for sure, but it will probably be the Thursday-Sunday after the All-Star game or possibly the week after.

Why would Echostars addition of 22 HD channels affect Directv? Directv has 95 (I realize that includes sports package channels I think) HD channels and will gain many more in a few months probably. I think the people who switched to Directv aren't switching, Directv customers like what they have...

WGN HD and Fox News HD are about the only two left I feel are really a big deal to add as far as HD goes.

But it says it will only initially be carried on Time Warner Cable. It doesn't say anything about it being on Directv.....and naturally, nothing about Dish either.

So...back on topic....is it 100% now that Fox News is going HD on May 1? I haven't seen them, Directv, or anyone else advertising it.

I am glad to see I am not the only one who has had these problems. I had the same problem with the HD feed last week with the Braves/Marlins game. Last night, I ordered the WWE Backlash HD ppv, and I had to reset my box to be able to see it.

In the case of Spike TV, remember it used to be more country music oriented so it was up with the music channels like CMT, GAC, VH1, and MTV. Now that it is not, it is being moved more in line with what they currently air. What is wrong with PPV channels being in the 100's?

Orlando has 2. NBC and ABC local news. The CBS affiliate did go to a 16:9 ratio widescreen for their newscast, but apparently it is not in HD yet.

As I have said before also, I live in Jacksonville, Fl and can get Atlanta's locals here. Can't get them in HD, but can the regular. Not sure about Birmingham in relation to Jax.

I dont believe it is Directv's fault these channels don't produce much in HD. They are ahead of the curve in getting their HD channels up, so when they do have programming they don't have to go through the clearance issues. So what? If you don't want to watch what's on those channels then don't.
