Which DISH Package's will include AMC?

FWIW I've had the Dish America pack since mid August and AMC was included. Today as I sat down to watch The Walking Dead I received a notification that "this channel is available as an immediate upgrade without a call." ^^^ IGNORE ^^^ I didn't realize that it was part of the free preview. I...

Why isn't nip/tuck full screen on FX?

Nope. I listed the model in my original post though. ;) http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Ofi43M8dCZX/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=147350&I=158KD50A10&id=review&search=Sony+VENDORID158&SearchDisplay=Sony

What are your current signal levels on the 119 transponder 11? If you're around 100 then you should be able to swap the Dish 500 out to a 1000 which has all 3 LNB's (110/119/129) on the same arm and adds skew to get the 129 bird. If you have a DPP twin LNB on the Dish 500 you can run coax from...

    VIP 622 reboots

My 1st ViP622 rebooted several times per hour, Dish sent a replacement and it lasted a few months and then stop displaying video, and now I am on my 3rd ViP 622 which has been working like a champ. Maybe 3rd time really is a charm? :P

Why isn't nip/tuck full screen on FX?

Ahhhh, I never thought about that. I guess we'll continue to get a crappy picture until FX goes HD. :( Thanks for the input.

Why isn't nip/tuck full screen on FX?

I have a ViP622 w/ Dish and nip/tuck is a smallish box in the center of the screen with odd looking vertical side bars that are about 1" wide and take up the full length of the screen. The show doesn't even fill up the screen vertically on my 50" Sony E50A10. I can use Zoom on the TV but it...

Will the H20 remote (RC24) send commands to an aftermarket remote?

You do the steps in my previous post in order to allow the RC24 to send commands so that the MX-500, or other universal IR remote, can learn them.

Will the H20 remote (RC24) send commands to an aftermarket remote?

I found the answer. :) You need to go into the menu of the H20 to change it from RF to IR. To turn on the IR of the remote: 1. DTV 2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT for two blinks 3. enter 9-6-1 4. press CH DOWN

Will the H20 remote (RC24) send commands to an aftermarket remote?

I have a Home Theater Master MX-500 remote that I am trying to program to operate a DirecTV H20 HD receiver. There doesn't seem to be a 3 digit code for the H20/RC24, nor do they send out commands when you try the learn function on the MX-500. I have the H20 set to IR mode, and I currently have...

    Not happy with StarzHD quality

I'm watching Out of Sight as we speak and it's some of the best HD quality I have seen on my KDF-E50A10. It's very detailed and the colors are vibrant. However I did notice a blob of garbage pixelation in the center of the screen for a split second that appeared to be black and white. Thank...

    Rain Fade since 622 upgrade

In all honesty there's nothing wrong with the Dish 1000. You should get nearly the same signal strength as a D500 when a D1000 is aimed properly. It's the 129 bird that is weak.

Female HDMI to Male DVI Adapter

Actually he may have a DVI on his TV so here's a DVI to HDMI cable. http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10231&cs_id=1023103&p_id=2405&seq=1&format=2&style= Since you have a FRY's in Austin I hear they have cheap cables in the professional installer section for $20.

signal strength dropping constantly, 119 only

Grab a nut driver and see if you can tighten all of the nuts on the dish. Make sure the mast is plumb and level, then you can move it a bit to fine tune the signal. Go to the receiver installation/point dish menu, select transponder 11 on 119, and have someone on the other end of the phone read...

    DishPro Signal Strength

Not as long as the legacy are 100% operational, but you'll need RG6 (preferably swept to 2.2-3GHz) to carry odd & even transponders with DishPro. Here's a nice FAQ: http://www.satelliteguys.us/showthread.php?t=32477

129 Signal Strength seems to be improved

I'd wager that your 129 levels are coincidental.

Does anyone has news on 129w

I just slapped a 3rd dish on my roof (a Dish300 to point at 129) and scrapped the Dish1000. What's sad is that I only gained about 8 points on the signal strength meter. Transponder 11 is 74-76 & 30 is 79-81, and I spent 30 min. trying to fine tune the sucker. If you breathe on it the wrong way...

Please help me find 129 AGAIN!

I was using a Dish1000 but went back to a Dish500 for 110/119, a Dish300 for 129, and a 2nd Dish300 for 148. I used the directions below to help me find 129 yesterday; I hope they'll help you out as well. Here's a nice dish angle calculator...

Why do techs always use Perfect Vision and PPC EXXL?

I use Perfect Vision dual shield copper clad and solid copper cable, then terminate the ends with Digicon DS6 (blue ones) connectors. I have never had a problem pushing them onto the cable. In fact they slide on with very little pressure.

Dish Installers: How do you prep your coax?

Mike500 & dishcomm, thanks for the detailed replies. A buddy of mine tried the bumblebee Gilberts and hated them. Van, if I read your reply correctly it sounds like you cut the braid off of the 2nd cut during the cable prep. Having a good stripper means you can adjust the depth of the cut so...

Dish Installers: How do you prep your coax?

I do mine identical to the way the T&B guide shows you. http://www.tnb.com/contractor/docs/snapnseal.pdf After the center conductor extends past the rim/edge of the connector I trim to it be less than the thickness of a nickel (per Dish instructions). However I have seen some...

DPP 44 died - replacement switch DOA

I have a 622 & 625 (DPP receivers) connected to a DPP44 and do not have the power inserter connected since there was a post a week or two ago saying that it wasn't necessary w/ certain Dish receivers. swatson1, how many receivers do you have? I don't think you can cascade a DPP44 off a DP34...
