What is the furthest south that anyone has gotten Anik G1

I could get Bell 82 sorta-kinda well enough in Colorado at 40.5N until they took the guide off that bird. I haven't locked onto 91 for years, and no guide == no PVR.

What is the furthest south that anyone has gotten Anik G1

I'm in northern Colorado, and have never had an indication that I could make any use of G1.

Bell 9242 (Dish VIP622 equivalent) rebooting cycle

Are you running the 9242 atop a laptop cooler? My thoughts turn to heat. I lost Bell functionality awhile back when the guide was pulled from 82, but got my receiver out to capture a few shows (in HD, yay!). It rebooted a couple of times before I got the laptop cooler out again.

Bell signal in the southern provinces - update

I guess it depends on how far you're going. 91 is not sniffable too far down.

Bell signal in the southern provinces - update

My device itself was fully functional with full EPG when I fired it up in Canada on a drop that could see both satellites. It also picked up the latest firmware.

Bell signal in the southern provinces - update

It's over for Bell unless you can get signal from 91, as far as I can tell. It was a good run for me, but ...

Bell signal in the southern provinces - update

Yes, the Bell software is a complete wad - you can't even get in to look at your timers to see what you might have recorded and could watch live. I can pause live TV until the signal stutters, and then gone. And my signal is really now about gone, too. Sad.

Bell signal in the southern provinces - update

So I have been bumping along with marginal signal for awhile; it's kind of sucked but it's been bearable. Until today. I still have decent strength on all transponders on this sunny morning, but my receiver didn't get the program guide overnight and will not get it now. On what I see now, I...

Has anyone connected a Bell receiver to the Internet in the USA?

I won't even have a Homeplug (Ethernet over power line) in the house, because my receiver might connect over it.

Need satellite guy in Denver area

I am all set. I found a guy with a meter that could download the sat stats, and had him put up the one meter dish I had in my basement for some time. It's awesome - I have not seen signal this good in years. I have seen 96% on my strongest transponder from 82, up from 65%, and I have seen 77%...

Need satellite guy in Denver area

I was good - getting Bell's 82 satellite in Fort Collins, CO, even though I am on the fringe. I had my roof replaced last week, and they had to take off the dish and put it back on. Surprisingly, they got it to where I could still get a whiff of the signal. So this morning, I climbed on the...

OK, So I am Closer Than Ever to Cancelling Shaw Direct and Going 100% Internet

I had trouble with my sat system for a few days, probably debris on the dish between two storms (better after the second one). I finally picked up a VPN so that I could get past the out-of-country restrictions (for The National on the CBC! Grumble). I consider it a good tool, but when sites...

    HD Radio

In the U.S., stations are rolling out iBiquity in-band on-channel (IBOC) digital, which adds a weak digital subcarrier to the FM or AM signal. Canada went a different way some years back - they allocated new frequencies in the L-band for Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB), as much of Europe...
