Gentlemen (and any ladies), I was never a satellite subscriber until VOOM made its debut a few years ago. I am now glad I did as I experienced what true HD can be. I made a decision (with my wallet) when VOOM went dark to resume my Comcast HD contract and so far they have not disappointed me...

I hear ya. The only thing I wish for is an HD version of a FTA box. Then of course I can start bitchin about the lack of HD FTA channels :)

Not defending hacking, and I don't wish to be flamed. However if you enter the boards via a search, such as "New Post - Mpeg2", etc. There are no warning stickies at the top. Just an observation for the mods. Perhaps a warning above the view level (just below the ads) would help?

My buddy and I have devised almost the same procedure as yours, except we have invested in a good learning Radio Frequency (RF) remote controller to change the TP's from up on the roof.

I finally scanned G10R last evening as well and I really enjoyed viewing the Tube. It reminds me of the good 'ole days when MTV actually played videos.

I use a Universal LNB with a 33" dish and like Iceberg says, the CCTV channels on 10750 come in great in South Florida (both signal and quality levels are almost pegged).

I went to Home Depot and bought a 2'x2'x3" paving stone and mounted the bracket that came with my Fortec 80cm dish to it with large TAPCons. It worked very well and still allows me the flexability to move it when a hurricane comes to town.

On the KU side, I cannot seem to dial-in SBS6, although I have to admit I haven't been able to spend alot of time on it. I can see from 20 to 157W here in Fort Lauderdale. I am starting to wish I had a c-band setup as I get more and more into this hobbie. In South Florida, what do you think...

Scream was listed last evening on Lyngsat as FTA, however I was unable to locate/tune it in. Now it's missing from the Lyngsat list as well. Does this mean it's gone for good?

I remember someone in the Voom forum about a year ago receiving Tampa stations with an amplified antenna. Being in Sunrise, you should be able to get all the Miami, Lauderdale and Palm Beach stations with a high-end antenna.

If I had the 22Khz set to OFF on the Invacom SNH-031, would it prevent me from tuning any birds?

When did it happen? During the storm over the weekend? I would check your physical connections at the dish, see if the LNB for 119 is wacked out of position.

I have my Viewsat plugged into a Pany HD plasma via the S-video, and although the menus leave a little bit to be desired, there seem to be no artifacts or jaggies visible to me.

Sounded great down here in Fort Lauderdale (5.1 to boot), I did kind of notice the big band style, not sure if I liked it or not. I agree with rkr that the Eagles are one of the best bands I have ever seen.

I kinda liked this channel when Voom carried it in HD. I am hoping that either Comcast or Dish will pick it up as well. Any rumors?
