Does anyone do any C/Ku satellite DXing???

Sorry, but I forgot where I saw a post of someone receiving "out of footprint" signals from South America in SE USA. I think that's what the original question meant? If you look on Lyngsat's site, you can see the foot print for most sat signals. So I guess it would be sort of DXing if you could...

    Can I watch Galaxy 19 @ 97.0°W using 75cm Elliptical from where I am

Same here, None of my dishes or ham antennas are grounded. I just unplug and terminate every thing when a lightning storm comes my way. It's a real crude system but it works for me.

    Hamvention 2009

I've been to the Sadoun website to look for any news of Hamvention attendance and did not find any. It will be nice if he can be there this year. I know with the current state of the economy, some vendors may not go this year.

    Hamvention 2009

My wife is coming along with me. We are staying at the KOA campground in a new tent we just purchased. It's going to be like a mini vacation for us. It was her idea because she knows how much I always wanted to go. Every year I make an excuse not to attend. This year it's a belated birthday...

    ONN WEAK

Wow, I thought I was the only one getting lower quality on H2 for ONN. I have a 2 footer dedicated to H2 which is my true south sat. I normally get over 74 quality for ONN. (Traxis 3500) The last week or so ONN has been low 50's to mid 60's with no problems at all. Other TP's have been in the...

    Re-meshing dish

Good question. I'm very interested in this thread. There is a mesh dish I drive by everyday that has about three panels missing. It looks like it's not being used. I wonder if I were to get that dish, could some aluminum screen mesh be used to replace the missing ones??

    Primestar Dish/Equipment question

Have you considered the Traxis DBS3500 as a first receiver? They can be had for under $90 with shipping from various supppliers on the net. It is a very basic receiver with blind scan. It is my only receiver so far and I'm very happy with it. Although I would like to get into a receiver wth DVR...

I have a tool shed with my direct tv dish mounted on it, I wonder if a BUD could fit somewhere behind DTV dish. I'll have to get the tape measure out after work tommorow. Hey wildboys, congrats on the...

    my new toy

George, Well, I like the idea of 10ft in the air. I suggested that to her and she still hates the idea of having a dish near or in her garden. My bird feeder is in the garden and that she doesn't mind. I still think the dish would look good in the garden!:) What kind of cable did you use to...

    Multi LNB Spacing

Hey Guys, I was wondering if it's possible to to use 2 lnbs spaced 2.5 deg instead of the recommended 3 deg. I'm interested in adding a second lnb on my Telstar12 dish for reception of Atlantic Bird 1. Would that be possible?? Well, winter is just around the corner (I Hate it when its too...
