    Solved I let the unit sit without batteries for 12 hours. Everything is working again. Stuck bit? Static? Don't know, but it's working again on the same batteries, which were the first things I tried when it started acting up.

    Thank you to all who helped with this, but in particular thank you and kudos to 3HaloODST who hit the nail on the head. Programmed one of the 21 remotes to address 3 and then saved it to the receiver, then programmed the other 21 and the 4.0 to address 3 as well. Bingo! Perfection. :)

    Thanks for the reply, but if you re-read my original post, I can program any of the UHF remotes including the 4.0. The problem is that programming any of the UHF remotes disconnects the other UHF remote. Program the 4.0 and the 21 stops working. Program the 21 and the 4.0 stops working.

    Take a look at Starchoice's (aka Shaw Direct) lineup. Just about everything aired by the Big 3, ABC, CBS, NBC, is carried. Fox as well. All the US domestic cable/dish content is carried too from HBO to ESPN. Yes, there's original Canadian content, but the majority is US produced programming.

    Since the OP is talking about a 222 the 722 answers don't apply. On my VIP222K you can select Inactivity Standby from the Preferences menu. From there you cna Enable or Disable activation or set the Inactivity Duration timer to between 4 and 8 hours.
