There is no government sanctioned cable monopoly. Governments can't give exclusive franchise agreements.
Verizon can come into any community and go through the franchising process and ultimately get one. They don't want to do that... and for a lot of good reasons. The county where I live...
At this point, the short answer is this: if they can work out the agreements, we'll have it. If they can't, we won't. Simple as that. All of the calling, petitions, etc., aren't going to change the rules the sports leagues agreed to.
Just so there's no confusion, York and Williamsport are -- and will continue to be -- Comcast areas. And the Adelphia systems in Central PA will be Comcast, too. You can take that as definitive.
