    AT&T 622HZ (Homezone)

Does it really only allow 20 hours? Or is that just what it shows as available? It may be calculated based on full bitrate MPEG2 HD.

    Mgm-hd

That's easily the worst criteria for a "classic" movie I've ever heard.

Homezone No Sound on TV2. Help!

What is the 5.8 mhz doohickey you're talking about? Is it something like this? http://reviews.cnet.com/av-receivers/rf-link-avs-5811/4505-6466_7-31749259.html So you're saying that you're still not getting audio, even after connecting the TV directly to the box? Are you connecting by composite...

The Fall Season is here - how do I record 3 shows at once?

You choose three events to record. Just make sure one and only one of them is OTA.

    Mgm-hd

Yeah, those channels would be great if they existed.

    622 DVR Question

Yes, you can actually record two satellite events and one OTA event at the same time.

Homezone HD OTA Guide Data Help?

mritt75, what STB are you using?

Homezone HD OTA Guide Data Help?

Schneid is correct. You only get EPG data for locals to which you're subscribed. This is true on the DVR942 and the ViP models, as well.

    Wiring question

Yes, you can do this with diplexers.

    Vip-622 Optical out

Make sure your A/V receiver is set to auto-decode that input. If it's expecting DD 3/2 and getting PCM 48, it will give you nothing.

totally Unofficial Thread on Compatible External Storage for the VIP 622

All of the USB-Powered drives that I've seen were 2.5" 5400 RPM notebook drives. They're slower and have a higher cost per GB than 3.5" drives. While E* doesn't specify against them, I don't think they'd be recommended.

totally Unofficial Thread on Compatible External Storage for the VIP 622

Just a thought, but it might be more productive to list drives that didn't work with the 622. Let's at least refrain from posting duplicate compatibility reports.

    L4.41 Software

My guess is that your TV may not be HDCP compliant. Check with Samsung.

    Ethernet port active on 622!!!

You could buy a bunch of PPV events and then check your purchase history.

    Dish Network sucks!

Ok. I don't know why you expect anyone here to care.

Dish Network Retailer Chat Recap - July 10, 2007

HBO has committed to sending all 26 of their channels in MPEG4 HD only.

    my conspiracy theory

I answered all of the above. External Hard Drive support wasn't pursued for the 942 because it's a dead platform. MPEG4 is the future of DBS, and there's no point in developing features for MPEG2 hardware.

    Wah wah. DISH is mean!!!!

Don't take it personally, srs913. We'd all agree with you, but then we'd all be wrong.

    LOGO - maybe?

Looking at their schedule, it doesn't appear that they run anything that compares to late-night Cinemax or HBO, much less the adult content in the 490 range. Not my choice of programming, but that's why I have a remote control. Seriously, I don't understand why some people are actually...

    LOGO - maybe?

But we don't know the other side of the equation. How many customers would Dish (and possibly Claude) gain if Dish offered Logo? How may customers does Dish (and possibly Claude) lose to competitors by not offering Logo? I don't have a clue, but I don't think a few anectodal cases of customers...

Dish Network Retailer Chat Recap - July 10, 2007

Yes. It was stated on the retailer chat.

    Wah wah. DISH is mean!!!!

Absolute falsitude. Unfiltered devices such as fax machines, modems (guess what's in a satellite receiver), and telephones cause uncancelled echo. This uncancelled echo will cause DSL to either fail to synch or acheive a very slow and unreliable synch. I just ordered a second ViP622 over the...
