    I did it... ordered Comcast

great deal from Comcast I just called Comcast to order. I inquired about the $25 off per month for DBS subs and they told me it had expired but that they could offer me a better deal. The deal I got is: Comcast Digital Silver Package which includes one premium (HBO) @ 70.95/month HD-DVR...

    OTA vs. SAT- The Masters

On Thursday and Friday, UHD broadcast the Masters. At the same time, the CBS affiliate here (Dallas/Ft. Worth) was airing the same broadcast in HD. This was the first time for me to experience the difference...and it was stunning. The OTA was much sharper. The colors on UHD were soft and the...

    2005 Masters

Beware of golf in HD. CBS televised the PGA Championship in HD...sort of. The still cameras around the greens were usually HD, but the handheld cameras that followed specific players were not. The difference was noticeable. However, this is The Masters. I didn't have HD for the Masters...

    Super-DMA is being released!

I'm in the Dallas area also. I don't think that we will get any more stations with the Super-Dma. There are no other major metro areas near us, unless you count Sherman. I'm in McKinney and I don't pick up the Sherman station. I've tried to manually tune it and I can't get a strong enough...

    Equipment question

I lease my equipment. I am just wondering what will happen specifically to the antenna once the plug is pulled. Will Voom want the antenna returned with the STB's? I hope not. I'm bumming. The thought of going back to E* makes my skin crawl.

    Voom - Staying or Leaving

Staying until it is shut down, if that ever happens.

BREAKING VOOM DVR News from CES!!!

I understand the people that want to criticize Voom and they way things have been handled. But in the end, what have we lost by not having a DVR yet? So we've lost the ability to digitally record in HD. From reading posts, it seems that many people subscribe to either E* or D* along with V*...

    Espn2_hd???

I think they are planning to show any event that they carry live in HD whether it be college basketball, hockey, college football, etc.

    Espn2_hd???

I know this is minor since there is no hockey going on, but is Voom planning on adding ESPN2-HD? I believe they begin broadcasting tomorrow (Jan. 6).

    College Bowl Games in HD?

It frustrated me all season that ABC did not show games in HD except for a select few. I understand that they show many regional games each week and it would be impossible to show them all in HD. But each week they carried a BCS spotlight game of the week and that was never in HD. Hopefully...

    Ch. 304 ESPNA Problems?

The only times I have seen/watched ESPNA and ESPN2A is during the NHL and NBA playoffs. ESPN will have a game for most of the nation and then another game for a small region. ESPNA will show the game for the small region for those in the rest of the nation.

    HGTV and the Food Network

The wife would love HGTV, but since I pay for Voom it doesn't matter what she wants.

When will VOOM's DVR finally hit the streets?

Hell froze over last night with the Sox beating the Yanks, so the DVR can't be too far behind.

HD Fox in NYC is HORRIBLE!!!

I noticed that the Divisional Series games on FOX had bad PQ as well. I never saw or heard FOX announce that the game was being broadcast in HD like they have during football games and with last nights ALCS game. I wonder if they broadcast the Divisional Series games in EDTV. It had that...

    OTA's Cowboy game

I watched the game on Voom's OTA and I live in McKinney. The 1st few minutes of the game the telecast was in SD but it switched over to HD quickly. I got no Sat channels most of the day because of the weather though. Oh well....it happens.

Call me ignorant, but what qualifies as "HD-lite"?

HDNews: run to St. Helens NOW!!!

If St. Helens erupts it most likely won't be an eruption like the one in 1980. It had another eruption in 1986 and it obviously wasn't anywhere near as newsworthy as the 1980 eruption. Apparently there is hardened dome in the crater that has pressure behind it. It still would be cool to see...

    Espnhd

I have a Mits and it only does 1080i as well. I had a similar issue with ESPNHD and the problem was a polarity issue. I had the diplexors replaced and that fixed the problem. To test this, go into your attic or wherever the sat cable and ant cable go into the diplexor. Then switch the lines...

Why are the 2004 Olympics so boring?

The US soccer team didn't qualify for the Olympics, hence we have no team. Same with baseball. As for the Michael Phelps bashing...I am swimmer (not at a high level) and I can assure you he did not "botch" anything. He set an American record and got a bronze behind the two greatest...

CBS-HD: Golf : PGA Championship, Final Round 2pm EST

I agree. I don't enjoy watching this mixed HD/SD coverage. I think the problem with this and golf is the number of cameras needed to cover it. You can tell that the stationary cameras at most of the greens were HD. The handheld/mobile cameras were not. I think it would be difficult for them...

    NBC's Fault? Then explain this!

I am noticing the HD feed is not the same as the SD feed. Obviously, the commentators are not the same. You won't see Bob Costas on the HD feed. Also the HD feed is showing competition, not fluff stories. Yeah, the HD feed is 24 hours behind. I don't care. I'd rather watch it in HD and not...

ESPN HD soundtrack isn't in sync

I've noticed it since I got Voom in May. It must be an ESPN issue...not a Voom issue. I've seen others post that it happens on E* as well.
