Convert CM120 KU LNB Mount to BSC421

Hello everyone, Today I just built a small frame to hold a CM120 (channel master 120cm) fibreglass dish I got a while ago (not comitting to permanent concrete install just yet). The dish worked fine for Ku reception and I got some neat channels. Now I am attempting to try C band on this...

    Diseqc Switching Problems (Twinhan VP-1020A)

Just to follow up: I e-mailed the people at EMP-Centauri about their 3x4 multiswitch that has external 18v power supply and this is what they said about it: "when the 18V socket is not used, LNBs are powered through the multiswitch from connected satellite receivers. If power supply of a...

    Diseqc Switching Problems (Twinhan VP-1020A)

Thanks for the fast reply Iceberg. I guess I wasn't as clear as I could have been. I know the 18v is the external supply. When an external 18v is hooked up to this switch, does this power supply provide the power (the 18v and 13v) to the H and V lnbs attached to it, or does it simply power...

    Diseqc Switching Problems (Twinhan VP-1020A)

Hello All, I have always had diseqc switching problems with my Twinhan VP-1020A DVB card and have found the problem (through the mytheatre boards) is the power supply not being designed properly and the 22khz pulses become very noisy when the power supply becomes heavily loaded. My Coolsat...

Best place for T90 in Canada?

Hi Inno, I am located in GUELPH, right off 401 between cambridge and mississauga. I have also checked digware.com. They have the T-90 for $241 CAD or $285CAD with 3x reversed circular lnb and I beleive shipping is around $60 CAD which puts this order around $350 inc. taxes which is a lot...

Best place for T90 in Canada?

Hello All, After reading all of the recent glowing reviews of the T-90 toroidal dishes I am seriously considering getting one to collapse my dish farm into something more neat looking. I see that Sadoun has some great deals on the T90 but shipping kills the deal for me in canada (I am...

    Help me ident sat please

Well I changed my LNB last night to my invacom (the Norsat one I was using was only single polarity), and I was able to tune in Hispasat @ 30W as well as T12 @ 15W. The "Mystery Sat" is roughly half way between the two. Looking at Lyngsat this means it is either NSS7 Or I905. What is...

    Norsat LNB one polarization only?

Yup, You guys are correct. I took the LNB off the flange last night and indeed I only saw one probe in there. Because I don't have any other waveguides and don't want to spend too much money on this dish (you are also correct, it is a 1.2M channel master) I just installed my Invacom lnb on...

    Norsat LNB one polarization only?

Hispasat @ 30W Pretty sure its the 1-polarity LNB issue.

    Norsat LNB one polarization only?

Thanks Shawn. I'll try to get some photos tonight online. I even went to the NORSAT website and saw some PDFs on the lnb itself but nowhere did it say it was single polarity nor did it say anything about 13/18v switching. I guess i just assumed all lnbs could do H/V polarity switching...

    Norsat LNB one polarization only?

I'm not too familiar with all the terms but I will describe it as best i can. The LNB might be WR75 (i'll have to look more closely when I get home) but it looks like it from the small pictures I can find on the web. The lnb is about 1.5x1.5x3 inch small rectangle with one coax output on the...

    Norsat LNB one polarization only?

Hello all, I have a NORSAT 6600 or 7000A (two labels??) LNB that has the specifications IF 11.70 to 12.20 LO 10.750 OF 950-1450 0.5-0.8 noise gain 60db I have used it to watch some FTA channels so far, but when I do a blind scan, channels appear twice, for H and V polarizations...

    Help me ident sat please

I was turning the dish more east from Hispasat at 30W and lowering the elevation, so I don't think it's possible to get PAS9 @ 58W. Also, the TP frequencies aren't that close. Any other ideas?

    Help me ident sat please

Hello all, Last night I was playing around with my 1.2M channel master trying to tune in some atlantic satellites (my location is near Toronto). I have calculated a list of what satellites with transponders I should be able to see from my location: az/el @ skew 58 - PAS9 ( 149.3 /...

Why are these dishes so flimsy?

Funny you mention that! This happened to me today - was tightening a U-bolt /w small ratchet (5-6" handle length) and sheared u-bolt off right at nut!!! I think they make these bolts out of the lowest grade of steel out there. I think I will be investing in some nice stainless hardware tomorrow :)

    Scan/TP Question

If I make sure I have all the transponders entered in my receivers list, and just do "auto scan" (scan the list of TPs), will it detect new SR and PIDS for that TP, or just PIDS? Thanks for replying, Mike

    Bsc621-2 C/ku Lnbf

Hey Dave, Did you get anywhere with your 1.2m offset and C-Band? I recently came across a Channel Master 1.2m Ku Band Dish (old DTN setup) and I am really tempted to hook up this new LNB to the dish and try and get some C-band stuff. I have read that some people say a minimum 8ft dish is...

    Scan/TP Question

Hello All, I beleive the blind scan of many FTA receivers will scan a specified frequency range and look for all channels (or transponders) in that range, effectively finding all transponders and channels in that range. My receiver also has an auto scan which only scans the transponders in...
