Cablevision Board To Debate Voom Fate

I'm quite familiar with VOOM, and the quality is excellent. The point of my post was not to turn this into a VOOM vs Cable thing. I wanted to convey, especially to those who happen to reside in my area, how my feelings were with my HD Cable service, so in the event that VOOM gets canned, they...

Cablevision Board To Debate Voom Fate

Ahhhhh, Hello? Bingo. We have a winner over here. This world has become a "what have you done for me lately" world, or "what have you done for me this quarter" business world. There is no time to develp a "Vision" for the future, and "Build" a business. If it doesn't contribute steadily to the...

Cablevision Board To Debate Voom Fate

Ummm, Yes...Have it. Love it. How can you tell me that I don't have great service? I am the one who fires up my HDTV, and its absolutely stunning. And the monthly price for HD? Ahhhh, did I say FREE. As in, NO Monthly Charge for HD. How can you beat that? Have you had Comcast in North...

Cablevision Board To Debate Voom Fate

I've got Comcast in North Ridgeville, OH and my quality is excellent. I don't pay anything extra for HD than I do for digital cable. I always had Digital Plus, and when I added HD, they set my up with a nice Motorola HD box and HD programing with NO INCREASE in monthly cost. No box rental fee...

    Comcast HD in Cleveland

OK, with the recent addition of Discovery-HD to my channel lineup I received a message through the DCT6200 about it. This is common practice with Comcast to communicate in this manner. NOW, also included in that message was this, "more new channels coming soon." Did anyone else receive this...

Its Official. As of this morning I've got Discovery-HD on channel 205. SWEET!

    Hitachi 46W500 vs. Toshiba 46HX83 ?

I really can't say enough great things about Hitachi. I think all of the top models from manufactures like Hitachi, Toshiba, and Mits have the potential for amazing picture quality. What really pulled me towards Hitachi was the superior ability to tweak the picture offering the most flexiblity...

    Comcast HD in Cleveland

Great News. Discovery-HD will be up and running and added to my channel lineup during the first week of July. I've been hounding Comcast about this, almost daily, and they finally got it done. Awesome. Now the only one left to add that I'm missing is CBS-HD and all of my needs will be complete...

It won't be long before everyone has Discovery-HD, which is the way it should be. That is some amazing HD quality there. Comcast has finalized their nogotitions and its just a matter of the individual districts to add that channel, bandwidth permitting.

VOOM and OTA reception in Cleveland, OH

Cool, definitely keep us informed on how it goes. I am continuosly monitoring all of the Cleveland area HD providers. Things can change so fast from one provider to the next, and I always want to have the latest info to get the HD programing that best suits my viewing habbits. Hopefully VOOM...

I agree. I've been very impressed so far, and I haven't even done a major calibration yet, just DVE adjustments and it looks fantastic.

I don't know how Digital Premier ala carte works. I don't pay a HDTV fee! Woo-hoo. But that might change in the future. I expect to pay something, but I'll take it free for now. What's even better is somehow they turned on my Cinemax-HD(which I never ordered) when I got HD hooked up and it...

I tell the truth. Each city sets its own prices on the services it offers. I happen to be in an area that only charges $39.99 for the install of HD, and the HD box and HD programming is at NO MONTHLY CHARGE. Here is a copy of my bill. Account Detail This statement is for service from...

And the quality of the HD sports broadcasts are really amazing. I find myself watching games that I otherwise wouldn't have in SD.

That was my original intent. I've posted about Cable vs VOOM in the past, but that was before I got my HD programming with Comcast. I was trying to decide if I should get VOOM even before I ever saw anything from cable HD. But since my HD box and HD programming is at no additional charge through...

Well, price is more because I get a price break on my high speed cable internet with Comcast(I can't live without that). But the total monthly increase is still very close, I think it would only be about $10 per month more. That wouldn't kill me.

I don't want to make poor decisions. That's why I'm here. I want to put everything on the plate so I can make my choice based on whats right for me. I did exaggerate about INHD and INHD2 better than the whole VOOM lineup. What I mean is, Out of the entire VOOM lineup, I would only watch a...

No, I never said I won't go with VOOM in the future. I post in the VOOM forum because I am SERIOUSLY considering VOOM. I think V* is great, but for me, right now. Comcast is satisfying me. I don't think its lousy at all. For people who need the most HD programming that they can get, there...

Seanb61, Why are you so reactive when someone doesn't like VOOM, or when somoeone thinks that their service fits their needs better than VOOM? Your replies seem sarcastic and condescending. I do not judge others, I try to give my opinions in a manner that does not attack someones...

Why is that funny? I post regularly on the hdtvoice forum, hometheaterspot, and the AVS forum. I cross post the same info when I have something that I want to share with those members who don't get around to the other communities. It saves me so much time typing. I am a slow typer...

    Comcast HD in Cleveland

Well, I work for Sherwin Williams. Man, bitterness abound. I am just happy that I finally took the leap into HD. I just got my Hitachi 51S500 and had Comcast already, I added their HD box with no mothly rental fee. And HD programming is also at no additional charge, so what's not to like...

I'd also add that if a provider doesn't offer at least DiscoveryHD or HDNET - you haven't seen HD. (obviously, I'm not mentioning the Voom exclusives here because , well, they're voom "exclusives") Have you seen INHD? Its the best HD I have seen. I do miss Discovery-HD.

    Comcast reply of Previous Thread

Discovery-HD I would like. I do get similar shows on INHD, INHD2 however. Those other networks don't have any HD programming that I would watch regularly. Of course it would be great if I did like those HD programming choices, and I would switch to VOOM today. But for now, with the limited...
