    Hustler TV Now Available Monthly

For those interested, Hustler TV is now available for monthly subscription. But it comes at a price: $39.99 per month. Looks like you can only order by remote on channel 588. Hadn't seen it mentioned so I thought I would post this.

    Receiver froze up?

LOL. "DirecTV Customer Service" is quickly rising to the top of most searched on Google this morning. There are a lot of PO'd folks around the country!

Also, this just in.... DirecTV has announced plans to air every game of the NBA Finals in HD!

Did you call in for that deal? That would pretty much make it a no-brainer for me.

    Apps - WTF?

I tried using apps once a couple of weeks ago, but the response time was so insanely, ridiculously slow, I quickly gave up. Anything TV Apps could give me, I could pull out my laptop and look it up myself in less time.

    DTV Sports pack last night

Sports Pack was in a free preview for a couple of days this week (odd that it is in the middle of the week) and it appears that it has now ended.

Sunday Ticket Preview Again This Week?? confirmed NO

Perhaps the $400 price tag could have something to do with that.

    Why can't they?

They could just have a credit card swiper built in to the receiver, so you could pay your bill that way. Seriously though, I can't remember for sure, but I seem to recall that you could view your current statement, or at least recent activity through E*'s receiver.

MLB Extra Innings FREE Preview 7/16 - 7/22

That's because they are still selling it at the full season price. The half season price should begin around 7/13, and will probably be closer to $129, if not less. Needless to say, it's not a good idea to order MLBEI over the next week or so. I don't know why they just don't pro-rate the...

When will we see The Travel Channel HD?

Seeing all those missing HBO & Cinemax feeds makes the Premier package seem pretty crappy and not quite worth its "Premier" title.

ESPNU moving to Choice 7/1 & HD coming, ESPN Classic moving to sports pack.

Well, I agree with you there. I just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed some news.

NHL Network is in the Choice Xtra package, is it not?

    HD PPV Time Limit ?

What if I order a PPV "All Day Ticket" on the web site, where it says that you can watch anytime between 6:00 AM - 5:59 AM the next day, and then I decide to record one of the showings? When does that recording on the DVR expire, at 5:59 that next morning, or 24 hours after recording it? Thanks!

How to get an additional $240 off as a new DirecTV customer

Looking at the discounts you are getting on your bill (two AAA credits), I would just leave that puppy alone.

    Sell me on DirecTV

I was an E* subscriber for over 2 years and have now been a D* subscriber for about 2 weeks. I am very happy I have switched to D*. If you like sports, there is no question, go with D*. (especially if you want your local sports team's games in HD, NFL Sunday Ticket, or MLB Extra Innings)...

    HD Receiver for SDTV

The HD channels definitely look better on an SDTV than the SD channels do. I think that's because a compressed HD picture is still a lot better quality than a compressed SD picture. My guess is that it looks similar to what D* channels looked like in the very beginning.

    Switch from Dish to Directv

    1) Which HD Dvr model should I ask for, or hope for, in the living room? You pretty much just get what you get. It will be a HR20, HR21, HR22, or the newer HR23. You can request a particular model from the installing company but it does not mean you will get it, and really depends on what they...

    Ordering PPV

New to D* and have a question about ordering pay per view (not On Demand). I'm a little confused because I have seen on the website where I can order it - usually a 24 hour "All Day Ticket" for one of the channels, but then I've also heard about people deciding to record a PPV movie to the DVR...

So...I requested a SWM. Will I get one?

I had the exact same order as you and was worried about whether or not I would get the SWM, but I just thought I would wait and see what he showed up with and order whatever I needed if I didn't get the SWM-LNB. Well, I did get it, and everything went great. The installer said that because I...

    OnDemand Question

HBO is $14.99 and will always be considered your first premium. If you don't get HBO, then your first premium is $12.99, the second $11.01, the third $10, then fourth $8, and the fifth $7 (although if you have all 5, you would have the HBO at the top anyway for the $14.99). So all this to say...

    Just installed today

I finally have D*. Everything about the install was top notch. I was scheduled for between 8 & Noon, and the installer called about 7:30 this morning, and was here by 8:30. He was very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. Very happy to get the SWM-LNB & 2 HR23-700's and one standard...

    HD DVR's and wiring (SWM)?

Well now this is the first I've heard of this charge for less than 6 tuners thing. I have 5 tuners on my order and am wondering if I should just not request anything and hopefully they show up with the SWM, rather than calling and requesting one and being told "that will be $129". I suppose...
