Is the 722 degrading OTA quality?

All of my other majors are 100 (according to the 722) In fact, I believe NBC shows 100 too. I'll check out the diag screen later today. The builtin OTA in the TV shows others like ABC to be ~92, and NBC ~88. I am 7 miles from the towers. Using a CM4228 in the attic.

Is the 722 degrading OTA quality?

Well, I had hoped it would not degrade my OTA since that is the best HD I have. The 722 tuner is more sensitive, as I was having problems with NBC dropping out every 10 seconds, and that problem ceases to exist on the 722. Why do I have to choose b/t having DVR and having good HD? ugh. Thats...

Is the 722 degrading OTA quality?

Output is 1080i into a Pioneer Kuro 6010FD, 1080p 60" tv. My gut is telling me that the 722 is recompressing the broadcast signal again.

Is the 722 degrading OTA quality?

I had a 722 installed the other day. While it pulls in stations much better than my TV's built-in receiver does (a welcome surprise), it seems that the video quality is degraded. I notice macroblocking mostly with motion. Is this confirmed?

Can I have a receiver in my detached garage?

Sounds like two solutions, thanks. I will most likely just hook them both up to ethernet. The installer comes tomorrow, hopefully things will go smoothly with my garage addition.

Can I have a receiver in my detached garage?

Can I have a receiver in my detached garage?

I think it was swept to 3GHZ, and its direct burial.

Can I have a receiver in my detached garage?

Yeah thats the thing, the detached garage with room doesn't have a street address, and in the city meeting I had to go to, can't be rented out, must only be occupied by immediate family if someone did live there, and it shares all other utilities with the main house. I am just back and forth...

Can I have a receiver in my detached garage?

Honestly I'd rather him leave the box and I'd take care of it myself later. There is no labor to be done. I was reading this thread and it had me concerned about a tech "reporting" it: http://www.satelliteguys.us/dish-network-forum/108084-inlaw-apartment-2.html

Can I have a receiver in my detached garage?

I will need to do some work to hook up the house DVR to the internet (buy a wifi dongle). But I can hook them both up by internet. So, what do I do. Try to have them install the second receiver in the garage (the second floor is where its going), or just let them install it in the house and...

Can I have a receiver in my detached garage?

Ok, I've been reading about this audit crap, and now I'm concerned. Should I just have them hook up the two boxes to my two tvs in the house (right now its one 942 doing the TV2 thing)? I can set up TV2 again and just move the damn box later. I don't want any problems.

Can I have a receiver in my detached garage?

Oh yeah, the place is heated. It has its own kitchen too. Will make a great rec room. Again, due to trees, I couldn't put a dish out there. It shares electricity and water with the house. There isn't any way to say its not part of my property. It isn't rented out (city says I couldn't if I...

Can I have a receiver in my detached garage?

Separate dish, separate acct? Actually, the garage sits around tress, so that wouldn't have worked. I have about $100 into it. No big deal. If I have too much loss, I could run RG-11 for less loss.

Can I have a receiver in my detached garage?

It has a vonage line out there, so it will be hooked up to a phone, just not the same number as the house. It is on my property. We sit on about 2 acres. So the installer shouldn't give me any beef about it? What about the receiver working? Do I have any advantage having another receiver...

Can I have a receiver in my detached garage?

Receiver in my detached garage ?'s I have a 2 story garage with in-law suite in the back of my yard (about 175ft away). I have a dish tech coming Thursday to install the 1000.2 and two 722s, one for the garage. I have 2x RG-6 already ran from the dish to the garage. Will the installer be ok...

    Suggestions for getting 61.5

Well you're right! The deal was two 722 receivers for $398 with $200 of mail-in (yuck) rebates. They are going to come and install a 1000.2 on Thursday. I was surprised to hear they would use 129, I hope they can pick it up, our lot is surrounded by tall pines, though they are about 250' away...

    Suggestions for getting 61.5

I'm in the Norfolk DMA. So the Superdish was for 105, 110, and 119, and they stopped using 105 sometime recently then? I'm getting ready to call, so I just need to know what I need to say about getting 61.5.

    Suggestions for getting 61.5

I have a DP34 with my Superdish. However, there are three LNB's already on there. I thought I would need a DP44 to add another dish?? Is one of the sats no longer needed? And I would need another LNB for the voom dish?

    Suggestions for getting 61.5

23701 The voom dish obviously was pointed at 61.5 but I didn't know if it was as simple as buying another switch and tying it in. Thought I read somewhere about the LNB being different/incompatible

    Suggestions for getting 61.5

Hello, I have a Superdish and a dish from Voom. I am upgrading to 2x722 on the lease program and would like to get all the new HD channels (I'm on the old $10 HD pack). I have my old Voom dish, can I use that and self-install or is there a way to get them to take care of it cheaply or free?

Should I upgrade or switch to D*?

Understood, but to get two HD DVRs with D* I'd be paying $500+ right? With E* I can get two 722s for $200 after rebate. I can't say the edge that D* has right now is worth throwing hundreds of dollars at. Especially when it could all change within a few months.

Should I upgrade or switch to D*?

Ok I'll give it a shot. Will they know about the 2x722 lease deal? And isn't there a $100 rebate on them too? Is there any angle to getting the 61.5 dish going?

Should I upgrade or switch to D*?

Most threads I read around here imply that I'd be wasting my time calling in.
