    H21 Pixelation and Freeze

All we did today during the service call was swap out the H21 receiver and B-Band converter. I set the receiver on SpeedHD - and left to go shopping. When we returned, the image was frozen and the exact same situation with HD channels I described above occurred. Doesn't sound like a...

    Lost local HD channels

Glad to hear you've resolved your problem. All we did today during the service call was swap out the H21 receiver and B-Band converter. I set the receiver on SpeedHD - and left to go shopping. When we returned, the image was frozen and the exact same situation with HD channels I described...

    Lost local HD channels

I'm jumping in with similar problems - and I have a service call this morning. I'm on the Denver locals and using the H21 (installed Jan 25 w/ Slimline 5-LNB) along with an LG HD receiver and two older Hughes E25. Using the Zinwell WB68 multiswitch. No other hardware inline. Recently seems I...

    H21 Pixelation and Freeze

I have a service call in - but wondered if anyone has had similar experience. At the outset, let me say that all satellite strength signals run mostly 90's with a few upper 80's. Watching the Craftsman truck race on SpeedHD, the picture would show intermittent pixelization over the course of...

No 99 or 103 Sat Signal

Problem Solved! The SolidSignal video talking about the peak adjustment differences between the KU and KA signals helped. I got back up the ladder and performed some fine azimuth adjustments while my son watched one of the transponder signal readings on the new H21. I was able to easily get the...

No 99 or 103 Sat Signal

It was definately an alignment problem. I spent time with both the azimuth and elevation settings (course and fine adjustment without dithering). I was able to dial in 90's for a majority of the transponders on sats 101, 110, and 119. The 103(b) values are mainly in the 70's and getting all the...

No 99 or 103 Sat Signal

Hold on.. it appears from the time of the install (great signal and no obvious problems on the few channels I checked) to now, we had some strong frontal winds blowing through. Looking at this closer, I've had a signal drop across the board so the sat is probably out of alignment. Should've...

No 99 or 103 Sat Signal

Just had an upgrade installation to the Slimline and H21 receiver. Before the tech left, we checked several HD channels (ESPN, Speed, Denver locals) and all was good. All normally watched SD D* channels are there. Today I'm taking time with the setup and I see no FX HD and looking further, no...

    D* sub looking at E*

This isn't the Slimline AU9 that you're referring to is it? It must be the AT9? Thanks for the firsthand report for this area and others experiences, it's reassuring :up. I've seen the same sort of selective dropouts with D*, some channels are toast while others keep on going, sometimes with...

Are legacy receivers still going to be good?

With this transition to MPEG-4 and HD, will the legacy SD boxes still be good for the foreseeable future. I've got a couple Hughes E-25 boxes and was wondering if everything was going the MPEG-4 path at some point.

    D* sub looking at E*

Thanks - this is all great information. I'll have to check on the new 5-lnb D* dish and its signal strength across all satellites, but having the weakest reception associated with the HD channels seems counter-productive to me. Maybe it's just the nature of the transition to HD at the present time.

    D* sub looking at E*

My ZIP is 80439 - foothills outside of Denver. I ran a locals search on the Dish website and it indicated HD was available on the four major networks. OTA is not an option being in the mountainous area far from any transmitters. The biggest dealbreaker to going with the E* would be a...

    D* sub looking at E*

Ok, so now as a longtime Colorado D* subscriber I need to replace my satellite dish and receivers for access to the new HD channels. I'd have to do this too if I wanted to switch to Dish. So I'm looking at my options. My HD requirements are really limited to local stations and sports access...
