Good to see this post on here. I find the varying volumes to be highly annoying and it should be consistent across the board. Are we going to have to start adjusting the brightness and color balance for each channel next? Varying volumes over the different channels is a royal pain in the butt...

What does dither the dish mean?

Thanks for the tip. However, I still have to scout around on the various packages (and determine which package a channel is in) to find what I'm looking for. Is there some other option listing each numerically? Seems to me that this would make the most sense.

I have a Bird Dog Satellite Signal finder and was wondering which satellite I should try to find first so that all of the others will fall into place thus enabling me to get all channels? Thanks for your help, Neal

Does anyone know where I can get a listing of channels by numerical listing with an explanation of the programming for each? This would be very helpful for when setting my favorites as I have no idea what some of the channels are about without going to them individually and watching awhile...

I can certainly tell that nobody at D* is from the South because they certainly don’t know beans about symantics. For example, in the South, to say that something is going to be turned on in September actually means that it will be on by September 1st so that anyone wanting to watch could do...

Oh but you're wrong. I called them yesterday and they committed to deliver. D* customer service reps obviously know as much as we do on these boards, that being nothing.

OK, so I just called too..... The rep said that "barring any problems between now and then" 30 channels are planned to turn on tomorrow but she didn't have an exact time. These will include: HGTV History Channel National Geographic The Weather Channel A&E The Golf Channel Stars Showtime...

The Date I wonder if when all of these D* reps are talking about the 19th, they're meaning October 19th? LOL!

Who said it was going to be the 19th in the first place and was this based on credible info or a rumor? I think if DirecTV was planning on doing ANYTHING tomorrow relating to HD expansion, some mention of it would have been made in the conference call. And next month, you can probably count...

One other thing...how in the world can they promise CNN HD when Time Warner who owns CNN doesn't even have that one on their own cable network?

Those guys at DirecTV are definitely jerking our chain. They've said September for months on end and now here it is almost October and they're saying next month??? The website itself says 150 by the end of the year and now in the conference call today, they say "150 or there abouts."...

DirecTV told me if you have an RV and can show proof of it, they can grant access without having to get waivers approved from the networks. They're mailing me the necessary forms this week. I'll let you know what all is required.
