The 921 requires two cables to work. The only other option is a new switch. I think the DP44 (if that's the correct term) is now available. It allows the use of one cable. Someone here must be using it and can give you more accurate info.

I read some where, that the s/w download shuts off the caller ID. I just went into the Menu and sure enough it was shut off. Turned it back on and it now works fine. :)

The truth is, some AV receivers are not compatible, with the 811. My Sherwood receiver produced DD just fine, with my 6000. The only way I could ever get any sound out of the 811, was PCM Only. Never any DD. As soon as I replaced the 811 with my 921, DD was again not a problem. The problem...

I agree. Had mine for about 10 days and love it. Of course we did not have to endure some of the early growing pains. Still a few things to fix; but I wouldn't give it up for twice the price. :)

Why would anyone get excited about more music channels? Sirrus smirus. We already have all the music channels anyone should ever need. I have Dish for TV!!! If I want music, I can turn on the radio. Drop all the redundant music channels and give us more HD!

If that is correct, it then may be worth waiting for. But only if it has two HD tuners.

Actually, the 942 looks like a step backwards, unless you have the need to feed two tvs. With one HD tuner and one SD tuner, you will not be able to watch a HD program, while recording another HD program. Is that true Scott? Doesn't seem wort waiting for, if I can ever get a 921. :confused:

I have one of the 1st 811s. I have never been able to get DD to work. I think there is a compatibility issue with just some AV receicers. Because some 811 owners report no problem. Waiting for a software up grade. I hope. :(

Just started in the last three days. Hold the power button for 5 seconds, to reboot. That solves the problem. Pain in the butt! :down
