First off, I'm a D* customer. The reason I'm starting a post on the E* side is to get some information. Ever since we got Disney HD in early April, we (not just me but many other D* customers so it's not my equipment) can hear an audio distortion during some shows. It always seems to happen...

On D* when we get a new HD channel, it usually takes a few days or up to a week (or even 2) before shows on that channel are flagged as HD in the guide. Not sure how E* does it, but maybe a little more patience and the HD flags will start showing up.

SciFi does not have the HD rights to Enterprise like HDNET does. SciFi only has the SD rights. This is like deja vu all over again as us D* folk went through this same discussion many times many months ago.

Just for a comparison, America's Port looks great on D* and it's definitely in HD. Not sure why it wouldn't look good on E*.

D* typically launches new channels on Wednesdays at 6AM eastern. Very few exceptions.

You should see the HD cartoons on Disney. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and My Friends Tigger and Pooh look amazing! Even my wife stopped and said WOW! Stores should put these shows on their HDTV displays.

An easy workaround is if you do have 3 shows at 1 time, as long as 1 of them is on a cable channel, usually it will be repeated 3 or 4 hours later. So on the HR2x, just have your network shows be higher priority, then the cable show will not be recorded at its first airing, but it will be...

Yes. I don't have NESN (SD or HD) but during the few CI free previews, the NESN HD picture quality was fantastic.

I have an HR20-100 and don't have a negative thing to say about it. I also have Tivo so I know what a DVR should be. I've never been an E* customer, so I can't speak about their receivers. What I will say is all the HD on D* is great!

A supposed Spike TV insider posted a few weeks ago about this on dbstalk and said they would be in HD.

LIN and D* are in negotiations (and have been for awhile). Not sure how far apart they are, but they are talking. LIN owns too many affiliates for D* to ignore. Especially now that E* reached a deal.

I still haven't seen Buffalo on any of E* new lists of new HD local markets. Not soon enough! Luckily I can get WIVB with my antenna and have been recording CBS HD all along first on my HR10 and now my HR20. I don't watch anything on CW (but I can receive it to with my antenna) so no biggie...

Speed is owned by Fox, which is owned by News Corp, which used to own D* up until a week or 2 ago when Liberty took ownership.

BSG: Razor looked great on SciFi HD. I don't watch SG: Atlantis, but have tuned in every so often just to see the PQ and it too looks great. Tin Man also looked very good.
