Agree with HIFI. I have a wireless Joey that I don't use all the time and don't want to keep having to remember to turn the access point on when using. So I have the ethernet connected directly and no WAP. Works like a champ for me.

For me I tried this a number of times. I did not see a noticeable difference. I did see the TV's info banner note the resolution difference though. Maybe my new Sony is just really good at 4K upscaling like it claims. ;-)

While the 50/52 do not have a dedicated stop button, you can long press the Back button to get the recording to stop playback and at least go to live TV. Would be nice to go to the DVR menu instead. Also, if you press the channel up or down you can stop the recording playback to live TV. All...
