    Home made DreamBox PVR

Also, you might have trouble accessing hardware from within VMware... Might be better off running the PVR and VMware from within Linux, and then Windows within the VMware. Or just forget about Windows and run IceWM/Firefox/etc. :)

    Sats with temporary channels ?

I am interested in that as well. Is there any kind of "FTA TV Guide"? It would make FTA much more usable for TV watching (as opposed to just hobbyist use) if you had a guide. I also thing some kind of guide would help me justify buying a PVR of some sort!

    Newbie quality question on 102g

Rat Shack to the rescue My twinham vp-1025 w/ dish-500 was receiving ~ 60% signal on the dish FTA channels, but a cheap $11 sat amplifier from radio-shack (placed inline near the dish) boosted that to ~ 75%. Now to get a real (3-ft plus) dish and a 0.3dB LNB, and I'll be picking up all...
