    100+ National HD Channels?

At least D* counts RSN's that are on 24hrs, unlike E* which counts them and all you get is a game.

Will Dish get BBC America in HD?

Top Gear is not done in HD. It is widescreen SD. Why would HDnet put it on if that channel is all HD.

Here is the latest HD news

Yeah right. 110 and 119 are completely filled up. CSR was definitely full of hot air.

    SciFi channel HD??

Dr. Who is not done in HD. It is only widescreen SD, so you will not see in HD ever. Torchwood Dr. Who spin off is in HD however. You can see it on HDNET.

    TBS-HD Getting Better

TBS HD originates in 1080i. All Turner networks are 1080i. So it is either downrezzed or converted to 720p.

    Hdmi 1.3

Except that 1080p has been in HDMI spec from version 1.1.

    Hdmi 1.3

No difference. Digital is digital. It will either work or it won't. It does not improve picture. It is marketing gimmick ad nothing more.

When or is E* going to full rezz HD?

D* is putting 4 HD channels per transponder because they only use QPSK as KA band satellites are much more prone to rain fade. E* can put 6 HD channels because they use 8PSK.

    So, Does Dish Respond Today?

Cox where I am just added TBS HD. While it is good for MLB playoffs, this channel is a total waste of space. There is absolutely no HD on it. All they show is upconverted disgusting looking stretched SD.

No they do not. They either use HDCAM SR, D5 or server. They do not use any consumer products anywhere.

    Dish 622/722 L443 Release Notes

Of course we who have L441 get screwed. I am so sick of E* crapping on us. If there is a software that has fixes IT SHOULD GO OUT TO EVERYBODY.

MOJODH should be next for a new HD channel

No sports at all. I have it on cable and it sucks. It was much better when it was INHD.

When the heck are they going to finish converting VOOM to Mpeg4.

What causes the poor ESPNHD/ESPN2HD quality?

ESPN2HD in MPEG4 looks pretty good. However I have to agree that ESPNHD is not as good as it used to be. I receive both on Cox cable here where they are full bandwith. There is no swimming grass or any artifacts at all. Any PQ problems are coming from E*. It has nothing to do with sideconversion...

ALL VOOM TO GO MPEG4 AUGUST 15th

I know enough about the technology. Don't you worry about that. Mpeg is lossy compression and I know that very well. However when you throw away resolution before compression you lose even more. That is the whole point. To me the picture on E* looks fine.

ALL VOOM TO GO MPEG4 AUGUST 15th

There is no anamorphic process in HD. HD uses square pixels. HDCAM is 1440x1080 square pixel. No HD equipment supports anamorphic squeeze and that includes Blu-ray and HD DVD. HD lite process does not create anamorphic squeeze, it just throws away pixels.

ALL VOOM TO GO MPEG4 AUGUST 15th

Just because many of the shows for Voom were created using HDCAM it does not mean, the channels are not 1920x1080i. Voom can actually be credited with inventing HD lite as before them all channels were 1920x1080i. They started using 1440 to save bandwith, not because their channels were done...

ALL VOOM TO GO MPEG4 AUGUST 15th

Actually the only pro format that outputs 1440 is HDCAM. HDCAM camera actually produces 1920x1080i image but HDCAM tape decks record 1440 due to its compression. It is still in use, but being phased out. All sporting events or shows are done in 1920x1080i and always have. For example La Liga on...

ALL VOOM TO GO MPEG4 AUGUST 15th

Probably not much, but the channels originate at 1920x1080, then are reduced to 1440 and scaled back up by receiver to 1920. So many conversions will cause loss of quality. Also most new stuff is shot with HDCAM-SR or 1080p cameras that provide full 1920 resolution.

    YES Network!?

And why would YES be treated different form other New York RSN's. I am not Mets fan, but pay for SNY.

YES is RSN. THEY ONLY WANT TO BE IN YES BROADCAST AREA, NOT ENTIRE COUNTRY!!!! When will people stop spreading these lies?

    Cinemax Hd To Launch Friday

They do not offer west feed, becuase it would be a waste of bandwith. With DVR you do not need west feed.

L404 to download to TOA1 receivers

There are very few like you. For most of us 3.65 and 3.66 software sucked. There was picture stuttering, audio dropouts, no DD thru HDMI. 4.01 and 4.03 fixed all those problems. In your case it is probably hardware issue. Call E* and have them replace it for you.
