Since the chipset can produce the various options they should just get rid of the gray bar option and add the letterbox. I find the gray bar useless. I understand that it was for burn in prevention but since there is so much 16:9 material our there that I don't see it being used by many.

I am seeing it as well. The frame rate dropes to about 5 per second with a loss of audio. Lasts for about 5 to 7 seconds then jumps back to real time. HD and SD signals. Started about 4 weeks ago. I see it about once in 3 or 4 hours of viewing. Buffered playback shows the same thing.

Sorry a miss of the fingers, MP3 is the compressed audio stream imbedded in the Mpeg format (audio layer 3). There was an Mpeg 3 format but I don't think it was ever released.

I just drop the Voom channels and changed my package from 200 dish HD Ultimate to 250 with HD essentials. I think the $10 a month is better spent on National Geographic, Diy, Science and the additional movie channels. The only channel I think I will miss is Universal HD

Damm, It just happened again with Sunday Morning. I paused it for a few minutes and then it would not play it back with out jumping to live. Rewound it, paused it so it would not jump and forced a recording and the recording worked without any breakup.
