    Using 21.0 Remote with HWS

Agree the 40.0 is best. The 52.0 is OK, but I HATE the touchpad on the 50.0.

    Yes. I use them.

Looking for some help on H3 and mixed arc

Some techs seem to hate pole installs. One of the cases I mentioned was a pole install and he wasn't happy about it. It's more work and they probably don't get paid any better for it. They probably don't expect it, but if they had a "make it work" attitude to begin with there would have been a...

Looking for some help on H3 and mixed arc

Was this a new install? Not sure if Dish changed you from EA to WA as an existing customer, or did WA as a new customer. Don't know why they would change arcs for an existing customer. No wing Dish scenarios are currently supported, a new DPH42 switch to be released SOON will be needed. Even...

Dish saying I have a ETF...I disagree, DIRT support?

Not really. If someone was never authorized to sign on my behalf, their signature on a document saying they are authorized doesn't make it so, but does add a heaping helping of FUD.

    40.0 plus H3 = 4x FF?

No. 4X speed was removed from the Carbon UI. It has nothing to do with the remote.

The FCC just gave you a reason to hold off on buying a 4K TV

I think take up of 3.0 will get a lot of push back. Unlike HD there is virtually no obvious consumer benefit. The initial digital transition was delayed for years and occurred with a major physical change to panels and a clearly obvious SD to HD quality improvement. HD to 4K just doesn't have...

No Auto Hop on CBS & ABC

Apples and Oranges. Hulu is supplied the programs without commercials and inserts commercials if they want. From the court documents we know Dish MANUALLY marks up the commercials, and only monitors a single market. The data files that flag the commercials have to be liberal enough to account...

    Joey 2.0 or 4K vs. C61K

I think both are faster than the C61K. No doubt about 4k Joey, it's not quite the same as the H3 itself, but very close and worth the expense in my opinion (unless Netflix is important - currently vaporware on the 4K Joey).

Quick Q - Hopper 3 new coax cable?

Not rated does not mean not capable. Dish is doing the right thing in replacing the cable to ensure everything will work, but I'd bet 90% of the stuff they replace for Hopper installs would handle 3Ghz just fine.

Quick Q - Hopper 3 new coax cable?

But an H2K should already have 3Ghz rated cable. What the current install actually is is anyones guess, but if there hasn't been any issue with the current cable and an H2K, there won't be with an H3.

    4K Joey Netflix...........

Very obviously, but still usable IMO. How slow is too slow is very subjective though.

New Customer - Impression After One Week!

I would agree, but that hasn't been my experience for any of the half dozen or so Hopper installs I've been through now.

New Customer - Impression After One Week!

After install, not much, but the downloads can easily extend a tech install visit by 45+ minutes. In theory they can be multi-tasking, but a lot of times, especially for upgrades, there's not much else to do other than stare at the screen. If not by internet, then a utility for the tech's...

Local Dish retailer says new Hopper OTA adapter to be released January 24

The original reports coming out of the first Team Summit to show the Xip813 (nearly a year before release as the Hopper) said there could be multiple adapters and even a mention an adapter plugged into a Joey could be made available to the Hopper. I have no doubt such statements were made, but...

Internal Teardrop DOS Attack from Joey

There's nothing wrong here, other than the receiver being a little too chatty. The 10102 broadcasts are Play-Fi support.

Local Dish retailer says new Hopper OTA adapter to be released January 24

Last report I saw of that was a couple of firmware revisions ago. Has anyone tried since the 24th?

But still if you want OTA via the Dish receiver, this is it going forward.

Local Dish retailer says new Hopper OTA adapter to be released January 24

Or both copied the chip manufacturer's reference design, Or both are using the same source manufacturer, Or..., Or..., Or... Doesn't really matter, Dish's price is comparable (less in most cases) than the Hauppauge part. Still, I might pick up the Hauppauge part on the way home and see...

Hopper 3 and "Low beam dish"

From the discussion, it most likely is being on the fringe of the spot beam, but double check with DIRT they have the correct setup info for you. Some folks have gotten the low-beam response when Dish's system showed incorrectly they had a mixed arc, international or some other multi-dish...

Is the Hopper Internet Connector compatible with an H3?

I've been guilty of the same.

Is the Hopper Internet Connector compatible with an H3?

He's using the Hopper and the HICs to supply Ethernet to non-dish equipment, so he does need a HIC at each Joey location he wants Ethernet available to other devices.

    DPH 42.

It's a Puerto Rican dealer. There have been reports H3 installs have started there using the switch for a month or so now (previously the H3 wasn't available).
