+1 This is where the disconnect happens for most Dish customers. When they complain, a lot of people on the board are quick to jump down their throat for thinking Dish should repair the equipment for free, but they don't stop to understand where the poster's position.

Hardball or not, it's a dumb tactic. Why publish that they are definitely dropping the channel, no ifs, ands or buts? That doesn't give AMC much incentive to negotiate the carriage rate/conditions if Dish's stance is they are dropping the channels no matter what. Just seems dumb.

I'm seriously considering it. I need to see what timers we can reconfigure because there is a rare occasion when we actually need to record four things at once. I wish Dish had gotten an OTA module out for the Hopper at release. It would make my decision that much easier.

I hooked it up directly to the TV via HDMI. Last night it downloaded the icon updates and rebooted correctly. This morning all seems fine. I'll monitor it for a couple of days to see if it's working right. I guess I can run an optical cable to the Yamaha and get surround sound that way.

This is kind off related to this topic. Anyone else seeing "to be announced" in the guide for Chuck on NBC both last week and next? I've done a hard reset to update the guide with no change.

This has been a problem with the 722k since the beginning. They had it fixed for awhile, but within the last six months or so they broke it again with a software release. If I remember correctly, it had something to do with losing signal on the OTA tuner.
