Cable And Satellite Providers Required To Disclose “All In” Pricing Under Newly Passed FCC Rules

If people think that the parking fee makes moral or logical sense, then that's the problem right there! (If you're worried about non-patrons using the parking spots, make them show a ticket to get into the lot. It's not rocket science. But then again, apparently rocket science isn't even...

Cable And Satellite Providers Required To Disclose “All In” Pricing Under Newly Passed FCC Rules

You were supposed to be able to do it, by federal law. But I don't think there were a lot of options for receivers ever made, and I don't know if any cable company was ever penalized for not complying. But at least they tried. I don't know if the law is still in effect (I have a feeling that...

Cable And Satellite Providers Required To Disclose “All In” Pricing Under Newly Passed FCC Rules

I said a long time ago that they should've been held to the same standard as cable: you could buy your own receiver and get a card from the programing provider.

anybody else having audio dropouts on AXS TV?

Mark just sold his basketball team, so hopefully he has the time and money to take care of his TV channel if that's really where the problem is coming from.

anybody else having audio dropouts on AXS TV?

I emailed the old address that used to get stuff like this fixed, even though people have said it doesn't work anymore. It didn't bounce, but nobody answered it either.

Republic Wireless shutting down as Dish moves customers over to Boost Infinite

The bring-your-own-phone pages say that hotspot is available as an add-on. They don't say how much it costs.

anybody else having audio dropouts on AXS TV?

It's been happening for a few weeks, and seems to be getting worse. I know my dish alignment isn't fantastic, but there are no breakups on any other channels, and more to the point, there's no break whatsoever in the video, just the audio.

    H365 has arrived

I have something very similar to this on my Hopper 2 on H264: does HWS H264 have a bug with watching a recording in progress? I think it's updated to H265 since then, but I haven't been brave enough to test it. And tonight I had an absolutely ridiculous glitch. I started watching Andrew...

    H264 in Hopper/Sling erases settings

No such issues here, just the watching-a-recording-in-progress issue I posted about.

how much would it cost to get this disgusting pole mount fixed?

If I'm not mistaken, there's no flex pack that has MTV Classic, which is the only MTV channel we watch. The package lineups would seem to be deliberately designed to be useless if one wants anything other than the most insipid basic channels.

how much would it cost to get this disgusting pole mount fixed?

I don't have the protection plan, as I'm giving Dish way too much money as it is for what little I use these days. (Of course, their plans are arranged such that we need the Top 250 or whatever they call it now to get the channels we *do* watch.) I could install a dish myself, including aiming...

how much would it cost to get this disgusting pole mount fixed?

A local retailer put this dish in, I think about 10 years ago. I don't remember how long the pole was, but as you can see there's 4 feet above ground, so I'm sure there's no more than 2 feet underground, if it's even a 6-foot pole and not 5 feet. More to the point, the ground was very rocky...

does HWS H264 have a bug with watching a recording in progress?

Wednesday night I was watching the hockey game on TNT. I started the recording from the beginning about an hour after it began, forwarding all the commercials and the first intermission. About two minutes into the second period, the screen suddenly froze, and "Live TV" flashed a couple of...

    Time for another subscription increase

Maybe some people don't want to be in a contract in case Dish drops channels they care about. I mean, it's already been demonstrated that there's no limit as to what channels they'll drop.

Charlie Ergen flew to Dubai to fundraise for satellite TV giant

Should've never bought it in the first place. If we had an effective and responsible FCC, they would've asked him what the hell he was trying to do years ago.

$10 million reward for hack attack

Just treat them as terrorists and bomb them. But nothing ever seems to get shut down. Hardly a day goes by I don't get a text about my Netflix and Amazon accounts being suspended, and hardly a week goes by I don't get a call about getting a 50% discount on my Xfinity subscription.

    Clrcle TV and CMT Music

The same problem exists with the MTV/VH1 channels -- there's one you can only get with Flex and one you can only get without Flex. It's ridiculous. It defeats the entire purpose of having customizable channel packages.

$10 million reward for hack attack

On the second episode of Mark Rober's show, he mentioned that a group of private investigators had tracked a group of telephone scammers based in India operating in the U.S. and disrupted their operation. So why can't our law enforcement and/or intelligence communities manage to do likewise?

DISH Hacked - Websites are BACK ONLINE!

My autopay was scheduled for yesterday, so far I've received no email or text about it going through, but my bank shows it as pending as of today.

DISH Hacked - Websites are BACK ONLINE!

Reddit is still down. This is quite a long time for them, it must be something major. They say it's an "internal systems issue". But they're also only admitting to a 1.5 hour downtime so far, though everyone says it went down a lot earlier than that.

DISH Hacked - Websites are BACK ONLINE!

On the other hand, some people wouldn't have even known there was any down time, and would be wondering why they were getting a paper statement, since said statement says nothing about any issues. On the third hand, someone here just the other day said that Dish was going to be sending everyone...

DISH Hacked - Websites are BACK ONLINE!

My last autopay was also 2/22 and today I got a statement in the mail (nothing in email yet) saying that my next autopay will be 3/20. So if it's going to be done by autopay, what's the point of sending the statement?

DVR getting more useless (less accurate)?

My Battlebots timer has been working flawlessly this season, however, I just discovered that the DVR has missed every new episode of Graham Norton on BBC America.
