When I had my system looking at 148 and 61.5 during the great years when I could get distant locals, the channels would show up twice. Of course, this was with a 6000 receiver way back when. I'm not sure how the new receiver software would react.

interestingly, a DTV Pal shows up in my equipment list in my Dish Network account (look under 'My Equipment'). I ordered 2 through Dish on 6/26, and paid $68 including shipping and sales tax. Ugh!

My locals will be on 129. I *could* repoint my 148 to 129, but if Dish wants to upgrade my old 1999 Dish 500 (I put the DPs in myself 3 years ago) with a new wiz-bang 1000, what's the impact?

I personally use a Channel Plus NF-469 filter which filters out channels 14,16, and 18 on my system. I have satellite 1 (510) on ch14, satellite 2 (811) on ch16, and the DVD megachanger on ch18. OTA goes thru the filter, then routes to the combiner with the output from my 3 channel modulator...

My solution was simple. It's been turned off since April. We use the 6000 instead. So my wife hasn't had the chance to complain over the lockups and bad PQ. I keep monitoring this forum to see if it has gotten any better ;-)
