    Newbie asks-Is this considered piracy??

I know this might have been touched on but if you do intend to buy and use this receiver you should call Dish and ask if they will let you activate this particular receiver under your account. Also it is kinda a pay in the butt for a novice to install it. I would suggest staying with 2 if for...

    Interior installation questions

You can go ahead and believe what the "sales person" told you about EVERYTHING being free but really it isn't. If you go here: http://www.dishnetwork.com/content/products/installation/index.shtml you will see what you will definitely get for free. I'm an installer myself so I'm not saying to...

    Satellite Dish Re-aim

Also, make sure that the roofing company levels the mast when they replace it. Without it being level all the other numbers are meaningless.

New to Dish and receiving Error 002

Sounds like a reciever issue if you are only having problems on about 10-20 channels. Make sure that the tech is bringing one out with them.

    Need Help

110ft is way close. There are several situations where a remote in one house controls the neighbors. The reason the wanted to do it was because it takes more supplies and time (MONEY) to install a 522 and pays less than a 2 receiver install. So in short it was a mixture of laziness and greed...

    Dish Newbie Question

First off satellite and cable are 2 different things. If you NEED to be able to record 2 shows while watching 2 shows my suggestion would actually be to go with 2 Directv DVR with Tivo's. Unfortunately Dish won't generally let you have 2 522's.

Wall Fish Custom work or Not?

It all depends on what your agreement states. If you WORK for Dishnetwork then you do them for free. If you are a dealer or work for a dealer or sub for a dealer then it all depends on what your contract states. In my personal opinion I would never sign anything that states I have to do free...

Mounting dish in a bucket of concrete?

The kind of tripod I'm talking about would look like this: http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/tv-antennas/satellite-dish-tripods.htm Then just put a mast in tighten / level and you are in business. They usually aren't this expensive, but it was a good pic.

Mounting dish in a bucket of concrete?

Buy a tripod. You can get one from radio shack or probably any home center. If you weigh it down with cinder blocks it won't go anywhere. It will cost more than a bucket and concrete but less than a new dish and lnb for when the bucket blows over.

    501 Recording problems

1st of all you can do a search from the banner on the top of the site. But on the first topic If rebooting doesn't work think about ventilation, I had mine in an area on my entertainment center where there was a component above and below. I moved it to a new place and it's like a new dvr...

    Dish VS DirecTV

If you are bothered by the equipment working slow stay away from the directv dvr w/ tivo. It is S..L..O..W.. Not only that but it will only feed 1 television w/ it's dual tuner capabilities. I install both and overall the dish customers seem to be happier with what they are getting. With...

    lost ALL signal today.....

Just to let you know Barry, this is only going to be the first problem on a long road of problems. 1st of all a 75 signal on Dish is pretty low. 2nd trees grow, move, and change shape. You will probably not have a 119 signal for very long especially if it's 75 right now. If I were you I...

    Dish Network Funky Dioplexer Install

Sounds like 2 things happened. Someone had a great idea and someone bought dollar stroe diplexers. Look into getting the ones that don't cost $1 they usually don't have as many problems.

    Dish Network Signup Information

The thing nobody has mentioned is that with dish you can ALWAYS add channels at no extra cost however if you downgrade it will cost you a one time $5 so my advice is get AT120 and look in the guide at what's available on the channels you are missing. If you are looking through the guide and...

    Transponder problems

There has got to be something in the way then. Either a tree grw into your line of sight or maybe there is some sort of electronic interference. I read a few different forums and the gy that owns this company http://www.dbsinstallsupport.com/ seems to be one SMART guy and to make matters...

Dish and cable on the same wire?

    Transponder problems

I had a similar issue to this with a Directv service call. Turned out that someone (an electrician) had cut the existing cable and rather than add 2 connectors and a barrel he stripped and wire nutted them together. Also rusty connectors from cheapo's or no water seal. Maybe a staple...

I think my 510 has Alzheimers!

I have a 510 and it does the same thing. Doesn't happen often but when it does it causes a headache. I pull the smart card and reboot that way. Usually fixes on first try.
