Another one bites the DUST (622 that is)

Actually I believe that is the norm. Mine has also been flawless for 14 months and running.

advise for external hard drive for 622

Hi, I'm looking to purchase an external hard drive for my VIP 622. Does anyone own the: Seagate FreeAgent Pro - 750GB, 7200 RPM, USB 2.0, eSATA, External Hard Drive - ST307504FPA1E2-RK - Includes 5 Year Warranty!! I can get it for 165.00 at buy.com. Does this seem like a decent deal...

No Contract ... What can I get?

I believe there is a story from one person who threatened to leave Dish Network for Direct TV and they were given another 6 months free HD.

    DVR fees..

Your still not getting it are you? If you read all the posts you will see I suggested she change her equipment down to 1 DVR then she would get the 49.99 rate by subscibing to DVR Advantage. If she keeps the other DVR then she would have DVR fees for only 1 DVR instead of 2 like she does now...

    DVR fees..

It is the right info - it is right off my bill! If you read all the posts you would see I also suggested 1 DVR (the 622 in my example) fed to 2 TV's to get the 49.99 rate. If she wants more DVR's then the extra cost is inherant. Please read ALL the posts next time! Jeff

    DVR fees..

My advise remains to have your friend call a CSR and ask what the savings would be by changing to the DVR ADVANTAGE program. Then decide if the cost savings is enough to warrant entering an 18 month contract or autopay. Jeff

My Dish Network package and a question about the Colorado Rockies!!

KWGN does not broadcast Rockies games anymore. They are all on FOX RM now. My question is when are they going to broadcast more games over FOXRM HD?? Jeff

    Possible new E* customer

Yes you can get a better deal from Claude at Dish Store than anyone else. Check his deal at the GOLD SPONSOR SHOWCASE under the title "FREE VIP 622 FOR NEW CUSTOMERS PLUS OVER 300 IN SAVINGS" I went through Claude when I signed up 3 months ago and it went flawlessly. I highly recommend...

    DVR fees..

I would still be cheaper than what she is paying now with the AT200 and TWO DVR fees. The other option would be to upgrade to the 622 to replace the 625's and run the 2 TV's off the 622. Jeff

    DVR fees..

I would tell her to subscribe to the DVR ADVANTAGE package - that one has no DVR fees and she would get the same AT200 programming. Her rate would go from 47.99 plus all the fees to 49.99 with no fees (locals included on both). I have DVR ADVANTAGE and my monthly bill is 54 and change (5.00...

    Is E* cheaper than D*?

I would assume this thread is created to compare the two services from a new subscriber aspect. To that end you cannot get a better deal with D. They charge 200 for an HD DVR that is not as good as the Dish HD DVR (rated by CNET as such) which is free. I can see how you may be a bit bitter...

    Is E* cheaper than D*?

No doubt it pays to be a new subscriber. I am one and paid $0 for 622, $0 for 1000.2, $0 for install and I am getting 200 channels + HBO + HD for a bit over 50 bucks a month for first 10 months. After that it goes up 20. Tell me you can get a better deal with D? Jeff

    Is E* cheaper than D*?

Don't forget about equipment cost for new customers: Direct TV HD DVR = 200 bucks Dish HD DVR = FREE!!! And its a better machine to boot!! Jeff

    Dish Launches RSN's in HD

I live in the Denver market and was happy to see we had FOXRM channel 364 and watched the first Rockies game of the season in HD - but ever since there has been no programming on the channel. Just says DISH HD on it and plays music. There have been more games on since then but only the first...

    L4.02 to spool Thursday 4-5-07.....

Maybe this explains why I still have L3.66 as well. I hope 4.02 also addresses the signal lock loss and lock ups some are reporting with the 4.01. I too think a new software update (other than 4.01) warrants a new thread. Jeff

I Don't Want The New Software!

I have read some posts on other threads with people complaining about reciever lock-up's, reboots, and satellite losing lock with the new 4.01 software. I have not had one single issue using the 3.66 the month I have been with Dish. To me putting up with locks and signal loss would not be...

Great! can you tell me how to change or make sure my setting is set to "ask before download"? Thanks, Jeff

I Don't Want The New Software!

Maybe I can just keep my 622 powered on all the time? Any harm in that?

I Don't Want The New Software!

Anyway of telling dish that I want to keep the L366 software? I am happy with it and have heard to many horror stories about the new software. Jeff

Signal Strength on 129 (Dish 1000 and Dish 1000.2 only)

Thanks Randall, Problem is or maybe its a good thing - we don't get much rain here in Colorado and for some reason snow clouds don't effect my signal much. I did start pulling in signals in the high 40's later last night off 129 and was able to watch some HD programming. Since Dish braggs so...

Signal Strength on 129 (Dish 1000 and Dish 1000.2 only)

Its currently raining here in Colorado and I have no signal on 129 at all. Should I even bother calling Dish and letting them know? Not sure what good it will do. Jeff
