    Best Bluetooth Headphones?

I highly recommend the WP-350's. Excellent sound, excellent battery life, and they are quite affordable. I keep a pair at home and at the office.

    HOPPER DEMONSTRATION VIDEO!

It is probably all on the same filesystem. The OS just moves a link to the file and does not physically move the actual file. Hopper and Joey have me drooling. I wonder if DirecTV will try and match PrimeTime.

    HOPPER DEMONSTRATION VIDEO!

Stupid question. How does the Hopper record all primetime shows with one tuner? There are usually 2-3 shows on at a time during primetime hours. My wife and kids seem to even find nights where all 4 tuners are going.

OFFICIAL DISH / FOX ORDEAL DISCUSSION THREAD

The whole Robin hood act wore off a long time ago. Whats the big deal with Fox wanting a 50% increase when Dish increased our rates twice in the last year and for some (including myself), equipment fees went up over 300%. As much as I love Dish, the channel pulling needs to stop. Give us what...

ESPN News HD/Disney HD/ABC family coming back?

The Dish Network Forum really needs a sub-forum for Lawsuits and Channel disputes. It is hard to keep track of them all.

DISH Network Software Release Notes 9/30/10

I was just hoping they would brick them all and give us 622's as replacements.

    Sirius channels

Anyone else having terrible audio on the Sirius channels? I rebooted both the 622 and 612 and it is still cutting in and out. Specifically Octane 20 (6020) but some other random Sirius channels that I checked were doing the same. Ack, Murphy's law. No drop outs since I clicked submit.

Can I get the Locals of CHICAGO while in MINNEAPOLIS?

I miss the days when you could call up and "move". Now you need to have a friend or relative in the area and send them a slingbox to get the full games in HD. I was a Sunday Ticket sub for about 7 years until it got too expensive. Nowadays I will go sit at a local Steeler bar or catch what I can...

PC Mag Reviews 922 - Gives it Editor's Choice Award

Good review. They should mention that the 922 is a lease and the price you are paying is the upfront lease cost where as the Tivo price is a purchase. Obviously the 922 is better but so many people think they own the device if they have to pay $$$ for it.

Why is rebooting the receiver the only solution..

Two were basically DOA and the other two have been refurbs. Its definitely not power related. An HR20-100 sat in the same spot and used the same outlet for 2+ years prior. Moving the trusty ole 622 to the same spot works fine. I had the 622 in my office the whole month while the wife and kids...

Why is rebooting the receiver the only solution..

lol. The Dish online chat leaves a lot to be desired. My 612 is flaking out yet again (replaced 4 times since coming back to Dish in December). After you watch or record a show, you must reset the 612 otherwise it will not do anything else. Try watching a show and it freezes. Try recording two...

    Another hidden $5/month DVR cost

The fact that all the VIP receivers reboot every night does not help power usage. Reducing the number of reboots would definitely lower the electricity usage. Does anyone know why they have to reboot nightly for "guide data updates"? The only thing I can think of is their code is so bad that...

No Whitesox in HD on 429? ADD HD RSNS ALLREADY!

Bob, If its not crystal clear already it should be! If you want sports in HD and satellite there is only one choice. Dish does not care about full time HD RSNs. There is no need to open so many threads about it. Everyone already knows about it and most users that go with Dish understand that...

    Comcast OnDemand vs DISH OnDemand?

Dish does not even really make an effort. Everything is just thrown together so you end up having to scroll through pages and pages of junk. It would be nice if Dish would at least break it up into content categories. As is, it is pretty useless.

    612 issues

Its hard to believe they would put out such a lemon. Obviously you are going to have hard drive failures but the 612 is just complete junk. I called and used the tactic suggested above and I should have a new 612 on Friday. The rep would not let me upgrade. Thanks for the tip. I really need to...

    612 issues

Whats the best way to get a flaky 612 replaced? I have called two nights in a row and they just make me do the unplug/reboot and then it comes up fine and works until sometime the next day when it either starts rebooting over and over until unplugged, reboots on its own while watching shows, or...

    Time to leave Dish again

Dont forget with Tivo you will need to get the SDV device when your market goes SDV and then you have to pay for cable cards. At least in my market, Comcast rapes you after the first cablecard and they make it hard to get an M card so you have to pay for two cable cards per Tivo. I played this...

    Remote access problems

I noticed the same thing is happening here today. Both dvrs (622 and 612). I reset connections on both, rebooted both, reset my router, and reset my dsl modem. Dish Remote Access still says both are not connected. Both definitely have network connections and are pingable.

Does dish have answer to uverse total home dvr

With the 320gb drive in the latest Cisco DVR, it was able to store about 40-45 hours of HD (due to the Uverse over compression). For most, Uverse TV is a great solution. For the hardcore, it does not come close. Dish does need to network the DVRs and allow you to share recordings to all rooms...

    Dish Pricing Update

There is a huge difference between providing pots and tv/internet. Pots works basically on any copper line no matter how bad the weather or condition of the cable pair. Not so once you start adding DSL (which is what Uverse is) to the picture. VRADs only have so much battery life so do not...

I'm back! The HD is gorgeous.

It appears the 622 drive is toast so maybe I can get it replaced with a 722k. I was installed on Wednesday (12/23/09) and the drive is making a nasty ticking sound and the DVR just reboots continuously. Now I have to re-setup all the family series recording/season pass/dish pass/whatever it...

    Dish 1080P = WOW!

The 1080p VOD is pretty soft compared to bluray from my experience so far. Its definitely better quality than we are receiving via satellite however. Like others have said above, DishOnline is a complete joke. By far the worst "OnDemand" out there. Why don't downloads show up in My...
