    About last night...

Sam, I hear you about the mutiple device issue. That's one problem that I was able to solve for me though. I use the Xbox DVD player, the Media Center on the Xbox for watching local TV and also any programs that were recoreded with the DVR and I use the Xbox Netflix channel to watch our...

    About last night...

I can't speak for the Tivo part as I don't have it but aren't there fees involved each month? I prefer the WMC extender route that is fee free. But that's just me. I'm sure my features are limited compared to a Tivo setup. My only fee now is for Netflix which is $9.53 after tax. I don't...

    About last night...

Oh I haven't. I just can't wait to watch it on my TV without having to connect my laptop to it in the living room.

    About last night...

One week down... So far so good. Between torrents, Xbox 360, Netflix streaming and all the locals coming in OTA, TV life has been good. This is my second go round with Netflix and I have to say I didn't give it the chance I should have the first time. I canceled after two months because there...

    About last night...

I finally canceled my Dish Network service after almost 10 years. This post isn't about why I canceled or how bad Dish is (they aren't THAT bad :)), it's to thank SatelliteGuys and the forum members. I've had a number of questions answered and received valuable information over the years...

Team Summit Pics Video and Live Recap!

I am very interested to get more information on the "Free HD for Life" that is being mentioned. I have the Welcome Pack currently but might be tempted to move up to Family or the lowest AT pack to get some HD other than my locals. My fear is that come August or some time in the not so distant...

Appeals Court Finds Echostar in Contempt in TIVO Case

And what if you own your old DVR? Could this ruling really make Dish turn off equipment that is owned by a customer and was purchased before this whole mess?

Who has Dish America (Turbo HD)?

I wonder if that has something to do with the name change. The former Turbo HD packages that are now called Dish America are avialable to order, at lease they were on 2/2/10. I was given the option by a CSR to change to the lowest package when I inquired about the least expensive of the all HD...

Who has Dish America (Turbo HD)?

Thanks! I was figuring somewhere right around $35 but wasn't sure if that included locals. Wasn't there a rumor about the price of the Turbo packages going down a dollar or two as of Feb. 1? Maybe that was just wishful thinking. Thanks again.

Who has Dish America (Turbo HD)?

Thanks for the concern. I did notice that posting a couple weeks back. If/when I make this change it would be for good, for the most part, or until I cancel Dish.

Who has Dish America (Turbo HD)?

I currently have the Welcome Package and Locals. I'm considering moving up to the Dish America package (formerly Turbo HD Bronze). Can anyone tell me what they are paying now for that package and what channels you have. I can't find any listing on the website and the CSR via chat as not that...

    New Dishnetwork.com website is up!

I'm in the same boat. Was hoping to find info about these packages. Maybe we'll have them once the site is running properly.

Question about Welcome Pack and NHL...

Now if I could get the Multi-Sports package (including HD) with the Family package I might do it. The only draw back being that I think the channels in the Welcome Pack are better than those in the Family Pack, unless the Family Pack has changed in the past year.

Question about Welcome Pack and NHL...

Correct, that's how I got it anyway. Although you might be able to get it via CSR chat.

Question about Welcome Pack and NHL...

That might be where the mixup is. I thought you meant the Multi-Sports pack with the RSNs.

Question about Welcome Pack and NHL...

I'm not sure if this is correct in regards to the Welcome pack. I have the Welcome Pack now and was told that I was not able to add the Sports Package unless I had what would now be called the Bronze or higher.

    Dropping Dish HD Absolute

Really?! Well I might have to reconsider one when the fall TV season comes around. Have you heard anything about if the latest update fixed the problems people were having?

    Dropping Dish HD Absolute

Trust me I thought about the selling part! I wondered how many people who now hear about HD Absolute and can't get it would be screaming at me for dropping it. Either way it's the best move for us. My initial plan was to drop everything, pay the commitment fee and buy a DTVPal DVR to get the...

    Dropping Dish HD Absolute

It's not too big of a bummer. I was looking for a way to lower our monthly, and yearly, TV bill. Eventually I plan on ditching pay TV all together but this was the first step because of my commitment.

    Dropping Dish HD Absolute

I could have told you really easy as it was listed by the CSR in my chat window. However I lost the window mid chat and had to get back on to finish up. I'll check the EPG right now and tell you...(I will not list locals or free/public interest/shopping channles) Comedy Central Food Network...

    Dropping Dish HD Absolute

Well here's the deal. I have 15 months left on a 24 month commitment. So switching to the Locals Only package wasn't an option unless I wanted to pay an extra $10.00 per month for 15 months. The CSR gave me several options though. I'll tell you about the option I chose. I went with the Welcome...

    Dropping Dish HD Absolute

I'm finally doing. I'm canceling my Dish HD Absolute package. I hate to do it because I know I can't get it back but we've decided we need to cut the cost of our programming. I'm resorting to the locals package for $9.99 per month plus the DVR fee of $5.98 per month. I have a $5.00 per month...

    Dish Drops HD Enabling Fee

Is that the price on an HD DVR receiver (including the DVR fee) or will they not let me just order locals on and HD DVR receiver for $5.99/month?

    Dish Drops HD Enabling Fee

I was going to wait until the end of the current network TV season (mid May) to cancel Dish, basically a cost cutting measure at our house. Now I might just kill the HD Aboslute package and then only pay th $5.99 for locals and $5.98 for the DVR fee. I still have a $5.00 per month credit from...
