You know what gets me.....they said that Directv lost millions upon millions every year to the hacking that was done in the past. Now that they have put an end to the hacking, you would think that the savings could now be pasted onto the customers. No savings here!!! It reminds me of the car...

I second that. I don't understand why FOOD CH has an HD ch. I understand that people say ..."any HD is good HD". I can't understand why this ch even exsists. To me it's a waste for the owners of the ch and a waste of bandwidth. Just my opinion.

Good point.....so a good question would be to ask Dish why they haven't offered these ch's to their customers. It really would bring in more cash....I remember watching StarzHD alot. I also remember alot of upcoverted movies.

I'm a legacy fan myself. I also share lnb's so I could have both dish and direct. You can't do that with DishPro. To me that is a huge advantage of having Leg over Pro.

100% correct....it is the same compression technology. The only point I was originally trying to make is that when everything goes M4, the FTA business will be booming big time. Dish either has to secure their ch's somehow...or start buying stock in the FTA business.

I'm sorry ....I meant to say everything that is Mpeg 4 is secure.....the new HD ch's. Problem is that these FTA units are legal. Directv really had no units like FTA to deal with. It's a much bigger problem for Dish right now than it was for directv.

Yes.....BFG is correct....Dish won't let you lease a M4 HD receiver without subbing to a qualified programming pack. HD only pack does not qualify for the lease option.
