    I'm sure the TV manufacturers are paying for this. There will be virtually no one watching. BTW I had a 3D TV, returned it. The flickering glasses technology doesn't cut it.

    They have a sellers market right now. Once Dish and Comcast upgrade it will change. D* is taking advantage of it while they can, plus a 2 year commitment!

    I think Comcast wants to keep the HD exclusively. Makes perfect business sense. Can't get FSN-BA-HD from E* for the same reason I believe. It's working, I'm switching to Comcast.

    They are getting a rash of new subscribers. When these stop, D* will have to compete, no upfront "lease" fees and no 2 year commitment with high cancellation fees! Won't touch them with a 10 foot pole with their present policies. Within a year there are going to be big changes in TV...

    I'm getting two DVRs from Comcast for $24/month. No upfront "lease" fees. This will do until the frenzy over D* subsides and they have to compete. You may want to go to this in the interum, no commitment term.

    Tell them you are going to Cancel and not pay. You did use a credit card didn't you. I hope you didn't sign the contract without reading it. You'll get a better deal (and DVR) from E*.
