It seems I either ripped it off or I bought it this way, but the plastic cover for the card reader of my Genie is missing, I emailed Directv and sadly they cannot send me the part. I wonder if someone here from either member or site sponsor can help me. Thanks Activ8

since I have the 3lnb slimline swm dish, can I buy the 5 lnb and connect it to the dish, or is a brand new dish needed ? I think this will do the trick

Well I think I need to change the LNB's as well... according to this manual: here you cannot input a SWM lnb straight to the swm16 switch.... :( right ?

I bought a Genie on ebay ( yes it is leased) , had it activated on my account, but my swim8 is not sufficient to run my setup. So I was told to get a swm16. for some reason, if you look on ebay, you see the 16port swm, but you also get two 8 ports with it... that got me confused. I have four...

I bought a hr-24. If you gotta pay,might as wrll have something good, got off the Directv site. It'll give me the opportunity to record even more shows once mom and dad leave ;) Thanks guys

I have three HR24's on my account for my house.... now have my mom and dad staying with me for a while ( 6months) and I would like for them to get TV too. They don't need HD perse, but need the ability to pause and record shows.. I do have whole home DVR, but I watch shows they don't care...

Well you know... 3 days for a service call in my opinion is too long specially since I already know the equipment will be changed out.. I am hooked up component, but going back to the TV, it's an LG 42" plasma, with three HDMI inputs, I have tried a known working HR24 on it, it works fine...

you know.... how about I just wait ten days till they fix faulty equipment, for the record do not expect ten minute service.. but next business day is not unfair..... how many customers they have in this case is irrelevant.. surely the service department has been kept up from the early days of...

BTW I also tried to get things back in shape with a software update (0,2,4,6,8) it did find new software.. but I still have the same problem of not getting signal to the tv after the initial diagnostic screen ( they do work)

Ok, so I have two (out of 3) HR24 receivers that quit working over HDMI After a reset on 1 I get a "please wait, checking settings, then big directv logo" then the 480i,720 etc light blink in succession then I get a "no signal" on my LG tv. tried different hdmi inputs, cables.. to no avail...

when you get whole house dvr can you pause live tv from a second tv, that's just a reg hd receiver?? in other words, use the hardisk in say the livingroom? like i can now with my 722 e* also to get the 180 costco card, do you have to be a member of costco, will it ask for a member number at...

how about one of you cancelling the service. The other one gets an extra DVR, split the costs.... cheaper tv for all AND easy mrv
