Reading through what was released yesterday regarding the NFL deals, Disney is interested in adding ST to the ESPN+ streaming platform. They already locked up exclusive access to what is currently NHL.tv and will be adding that package to ESPN+ next year.

NO affordable, non or high data capped internet is probably a more accurate situation for those of us in rural areas. At ~3-4 gb/movie, the expensive 20 gig LTE or satellite data plans available to us don't go very far. The closest cable/fiber is miles away.

MSG Buffalo is different than the NYC MSG. When I had DirecTV a couple of years back the Sabres Games had their own channel that was separate from the main MSG feed. Try your RSN alternate channel 627 the next time the Sabres are on.

Asked the same question a few years ago....no landline installed in my cabin and have NHL CI mirrored to three receivers. No landline, no problem.

When did this feature start? As of this past weekend (9/26) I wasnt seeing it. I have two older Hughes SD receivers (4 years old, I dont know the model numbers off hand).

I just returned from a couple of weeks away and the NHL Channel is no longer available to me. I did a little checking on the D* website and it doesnt show up in any of the packages except for the HD packages. The channel still appears on SD 215 but has the "Call X-721" message. Anybody know...

For Buffalo the D* website says Channels 2 (NBC),7 (ABC) and 29 (FOX) are available in HD as of 4 April. Channel 4 the CBS affilliate is not listed.

You are not alone. About 1.5months ago all three of my old hughes receivers went to the four digit format. None have updated software or any changes to the programming. The channel 1000 thing seems to be driving it...you'd think that DTV tech support would have a service bulletin or something.
