I notice in the dbstalk website you can't talk about "moving" but you can here.

After reading the entire thread I have to sit back and laugh. I am the reason "moving" is not allowed on DBS Talk. I was very active and vocal on the subject. At the time DBSTALK was lax on the subject. I would advise people on zip codes to use and what to say when you called E* to move. One day...

'Moved' and can't get new locals

The larger dish did work for me. The op is in orlando so he is a lot closer to miami than I am. I found it funny that the op had the same problem I had when I "moved". Seems both E* and D* at least on the miami spotbeams have the same signal fluctuation throught out the day.

'Moved' and can't get new locals

That would be true if you are well within the spotbeam footprint. But the further away you get the signal begins to fade. It is stronger at diffrent times of the day because of the figure 8 pattern it follows. As I stated in my previous post a one meter dish was able to lock the signal all...

'Moved' and can't get new locals

I do not know if this will work on D* I sub to E*. I live in Jacksonville and I receive Miami locals. I had to install a one meter dish to do this because I am way out side the footprint. Before the larger dish I had the same problem they were there in the morning but by nightfal they were gone...

DirecTV - Tampa "move" to Miami?

Well from the E* perspective I live Jacksonville and receive Miami lil but had to use a one meter dish since I am so far away from Miami. I do not have the hd ch's but when I check the spotbeams for HD it the signal was barely lockable. Again this was for E* so i dont know how helpful it will be.

    don't get caught moving

Because moving is not a crime there is no federal or state law that makes it a crime for the customer who moves. THEY CAN NOT BE CHRGED WITH FRAUD! The only person guilty of a crime is the dbs customer that allows a customer to keep locals dns or other wise based on a fradulant address after...

    don't get caught moving

Ok because I have an openmind I will concede that moving is a form of fraud BUT and it is a big BUT a mover will never be hauled in front of a judge because moving is not criminal fraud for which a person can be prosecuted. A satellie company will not bring civil fraud charges against a user...

    don't get caught moving

Don't matter to me if people feel the need to move - but when they get caught and then try to push the blame off - that's what TRULY ABSURD is People cheat the IRS, go over the speed limit, etc. all the time also - but when busted, its time to admit being 'wrong' and move on. When...

    don't get caught moving

It is not fraud because you say it is. The hot coffe case was a civil suit. Fraud in every sense is criminal it is only fraud if it breaks a State or Federal law. Currently there is is no fraud law concerning moving. Like I said find a law state or local that calls moving fraud and I will...

    don't get caught moving

As you have already been told this is the law concerning the carrier not the customer. You can try to make the leap that by moving you are committing fraud but that is a weak and lame argument. I know of no State or Federal fraud law that covers moving to receive television. I did a quick search...

    Miami spotbeam?

They can not prosecute me for anything it is not illegal to move. it is only illegal for the dbs company to knowinly provide the signal. In other words what they do not know wont hurt them. So the miami spot beam reachs north florida that is good. Not to doubt the poster who says it does...

    don't get caught moving

I would like to know how movers are screwing the rest of us. They are not. Movers are receiving locals for what ever reason by deceit that is true but it is not screwing anybody but the local DMA. If a mover is caught then the satellite company must kill the locals or be in violation of the law...

    don't get caught moving

When you move it is done with a phone call so nothing is signed. The DBS provider only breaks the law if they KNOW you are using your equipment to receive locals from outside you home dma and they allow you to continue to receive those locals. Once the DBS provider finds out you moved and they...

    don't get caught moving

First off I would like to say that moving is not against the law. No where in SHVIA or SHVERA does it say that you can not give a false address to s DBS Company. There are no criminal penalties for movers. It is ONLY a violation of your agreement with D* or E*. You agree not to use your...

    Miami spotbeam?

Anyone know if the Miami spotbeam reachs as far north Jacksonville. I have looked at the maps and could not tell just how far the signal goes. I am considering a switch to D* now that E* has to shut down DNS.
