It will record shows that it [i]thinks[i] you will like. It bases it's decisions on other shows you record. You can turn the feature off in preferences (I think) but those shows will never overwrite a program you intentionally record. You may want to leave it active for a month or 2 to see how...

I have the HR10-250. Can I get the AT9 dish on 12/28 or would I have to wait for the MPEG4 DVR? I'm doing a home renovation and I'd rather put up the dish I'll be using for the forseeable future rather than a soon to be outdated one and then have to put up the new one.

OK, taking this diagram and replacing the dish with the new MPEG4 one could you replace one of the 5x8's with the new 6x8, connect the OTA only to the old 5x8 and use the 5x8 outputs for the old MPEG2 boxes while using the 6x8 to drive new MPEG4 boxes? It seems like it would work but I guess...

But this is not dish to receiver, it's dish to multiswitch. It works with E* legacy switches run in parrellel, does D* have an equivalent process?

OK, I know the new 6 x 8 multiswitch is compatible with the Ka/Ku dish. BUT, if you need more than 8 outputs can you split the 4 outputs from the dish in order to feed the new 6 x 8 PLUS the old 5 x 8?
