the whole dtv cinema adapter thing is stupid anyway, since it is a modem just for pay per view (does not make sense to me--why can't they route my dvr through my modem?) But in any case, I got mine for free during my install last July.

I have noticed that some cinema stuff does not look all that better in 1080p. DirecTV says all of their Cinema 1080p output is supposed to be like blu-ray but it ain't so.

I had a Tivo but gave it up when I went back to Directv. I will keep my HR 24.

In any event, they told me up front that the free NFLST was contingent upon package selection etc, so I do not feel the least bit deceived. Just get me on that jury :)

I had to pay $300 up front because of my bad credit. But they gave me the free NFL Sunday Ticket deal anyway! You never know until you ask them!

Then how do you explain the wonderfully restored version that Fox put out on DVD a few years ago. Are you suggesting that DVD purchasers get better quality "prints" than a major TV network?

Why did those of you who are not satisfied with less than 200+ HD Channels bother to get an HDTV, HD receiver etc then? Why don't you all go back to SD,?? I am tired of seeing all the threads on this and other boards on this subject. GEEZ, GET A LIFE!!

I do get the Local on the 8s but I have to tune in a couple mins before to get it to show up. It has not shown up every time since Thursday. It seems to be somewhat random and based on not tuning in when it starts.

Here in the OC (southern part), I get 99a at about 35%, all the others are the same as yours and I get all my locals and all channels in my Choice Extra package

It's according to Designated Market Area (DMA) which can be an extremely screwed up illogical thing
