    DIRECTV Keeps Calling

Since I switched from DTV to Cox Cable last Feb, I must have been called, emailed, and regular mailed about 500 times. I finally put the 3 different phone numbers they were using on my blocked list and their email IP in the junk file. I still get about one offer a week in the mail. The last one...

Onkyo receiver clicking noises and input change

It all has to do with how the digital audio signal is handled by your output device. Every time the audio signal is interrupted the receiver will click because it has lost the signal, that's just the way Onkyo has designed the circuit. If the HR44 is interrupting the digital output more than...

Onkyo receiver clicking noises and input change

Onkyo and Integra are infamous for the clicking noise. I have an Integra DHC 80.2 and it clicks just like that.

Post what DirecTV retention offered you!

DTV called me today with an offer to return and I would have stayed with them if they had given me this offer when I told them I was going to cancel. He got a little upset that I wouldn't cancel the new cable service and return to DTV, since now it would cost about the same. He kept saying "...

Post what DirecTV retention offered you!

I just did the same thing. I was offered a package with my internet that would cost me $80 less then I was paying with DTV. I called DTV and the best they could offer was $30 less for 6 months. Cox Cable Contour TV package was installed yesterday and so far I am happy with the decision.

    Equipment return?

I have 2 H25-100's, 1 HR24-500 and 1 HR34-700. I think they will definitely want the HR24 and the HR34 but I am not sure about the H25's. I am glad I don't have to mess with the LNB. When I switched from Dish to DTV a few years ago I had to send the LNB back to them, along with my receivers.

    Equipment return?

I am thinking about switching to Cox cable from DTV due to the price. I can get it bundled with my internet and basically the same channels, for a lot less per month.. I am not on a contract with DTV and I have 2 DVR's and 2 plain receivers with the whole house system. What do you think they...

Installer claims 'new Directv rule' about climbing on roofs - really?

So how will this new rule effect repairs to already installed systems that are on roofs? My system has the dish on the roof and the switch is mounted on a short wall between roof sections. Does mean that I will not be able to get any maintenance or repair work done?

DTV does not qualify for WatchESPN?

    Directv sucks (problem resolved)

In my area Dish installers are real fly by night operations and I could never get anything done to satisfaction. If I had a problem, the Dish installers would show up in unmarked trucks, didn't have any ID and very few tools. When I changed to Direct the install was professionally done, the...

Making the switch from DISH, but I need to know the truth about some things....help me please

When I switched from Dish to DTV I called on a Monday night and the installation was on Wednesday. I couldn't be happier with my DTV setup, should have made the switch years ago. Earl

    Direct's HMC vs. DISH's Hopper

Between the things I like and the things the wife likes, that lots of times come on at the same time, I use the tuners up quite often. Sunday night there didn't use to be anything on and now there are about 8 things we record, that come on at the same 8-11 time frame and more if NHRA is running...

    Direct's HMC vs. DISH's Hopper

In my system I have an HR34, HR24, and 2 H25's. I still find myself running out of tuners to record with sometimes. It is annoying not being able to pause live TV on the H25's but not worth the cost of additional DVR's. I recommend deciding exactly what you want and get it when you first order...

    Thank you guys!

NO, thank you Scott for leaving that other place and starting this site way back in 2003. Thanks for giving all of us the opportunity to have such a great place to discuss the topics that we are all interested in. :first: Earl

    Thinking about switching from dish

With an HR34, plus another DVR and 3 receivers that's 10 tuners so you will need a SWM 16 switch. The installers are not allowed to carry these on the truck, they are too expensive, so just make sure in your initial work order that it is included. I switched to Direct from Dish earlier this year...

Former Dish Net / New Customers Read This

What do you have the output resolution set for on the receivers? Check your resolution in the settings menu and make sure it's set for 1080. The picture quality is actually a little better than Dish. Earl

New HR34 or wait for Hopper???

Maybe someday they will be able to work together but currently if you have 2 Hoppers they are completely separate systems. In my house I have 3 TV's and my H/T projector hooked to an HR34, HR24 and 2 H25's. With this setup I have 9 available tuners and 7 tuners that can record, all of which...

Does DirecTV have an "answer" to the Hopper?

The HR34, HR24 Home Network is great. I actually had 7 different programs recording at one time on my system the other day. Not having any tuner conflicts anymore is just fantastic. Earl

Former Dish Net / New Customers Read This

Do you have an H24 or HR24? If you only have 8 tuners the SWM 8 will work but with an HR34, HR24 and 2 H25's you have 9 tuners and need the SWM 16. They don't carry those on the truck, you would have to make sure it's on the work order. Earl

Does DirecTV have an "answer" to the Hopper?

I was with Dish for 11 years and just recently changed to DTV. I had problems with Dish that they didn't want to correct and when I read about the Hopper only having 3 tuners, it was a no brainer to make the change. I have the system set the way I want it with an HR34, HR24 and 2 H25's and...
