    Just a curious question... Some shows on DVR are listed with a "K". What does the "K" mean?

    I'd rather have each title that I want to keep on a separate physical format that requires a player, than all of them stored on a hard drive in a machine...which either the hd or the machine go out.

    So far so good with Directv's HD DVR. No having to restart the receiver because of a frozen picture or sound loss like on the Vip 612.

    I called the AAA number to switch. Directv installer coming this morning. :D There's a delivery charge of $19.95 + tax. Estimated first bill - $29.99 for entertainment package.

    Can you get a normal HD Directv DVR for free? And what's this $99 for single room setup? Does this charge even apply to an existing setup like I have with the Dish Vip612 where you already have a single line coming from the floor and splitter used at end to attach it to the 2 inputs on the back...

    Difference is Dish just tells everyone to pound sand and get their shows somewhere else (like iTunes and Amazon), while Directv says they are working to get the channels back.
